Just be careful laying on your stomach. Depending on where your port is located it can flip while you're sleeping. I remember sleeping on my stomach and the next morning I had a bulge. I had flipped my port and had to have it repositioned on May 10th. My port is much deeper now. I don't know how my next fill will be.

You look beautiful and happy. Keep up the good work! -
Love the bracelet idea but I can so relate to church functions. Everything is food related. Once a month to seniors meet with the pastor at a restaurant for lunch. We hold church suppers a lot. It's all food related. Tomorrow after church we're having a church supper. I've only been a member of this church since November and there have been more food functions than I can count.

Bye lap-band - it's been real, a real pain!

Thank you, I appreciate it. I think she has age on her side. I would only convert to the sleeve if my surgeon felt it was necessary. -
I'm not sure because when I sing in contest (I'm a Sweet Adeline) we have to wear an all in one. I can't wear the all in one but I do wear the high wasted Spanx. It was tight but once I took the Spanx off I was fine.

You may have flipped your port or it might be a slip. Call your doctor and make an appointment, your doctor can tell you for sure. Good luck!

I was banded. 12/28/12 had a port revision on 5/10/13 because my port flipped but I've had small victories. Today for the first time IN YEARS no less, I was able to shop all of Sam's Club without having to use a mobility cart! That to me is huge because that means I'm burning calories while I'm walking. We shop Sam's weekly so the employees were surprised to see me walking! It felt great.. I have not lost a tremendous amount of weight but it still is a loss. Pre-op weight 267 Post op so far is 222 45 lbs lost so far -
Well, my surgeon gives me all my fills. He has his NP assist him and she does the numbing and he never let's me see the needle lol. When I was post op after my port revision he withdrew over 16 oz of fluid out of me and I saw the syringe from the fill and I was glad he gave me the fill before I saw the needle lol. I'm due for a fill on 6/17 and I'm trying to prepare myself. I have a very high pain tolerance but that needle was really big lol!i'm hoping I hit the green zone.

Lol I saw that too and was really wondering about the "nailed" part. Don't you just love auto correct? Lol!

I wish you all well. I've only had my band 6 months who knows what is down the pike for me but so far I'm holding onto the band. My daughter on the other hand is going for the vertical sleeve on June 18rh. Her surgeon stopped doing bands because of the high failure rate she told me. She opted for the sleeve over bypass because she did not want the problems bypass surgery can cause. For instance, her surgeon told her she can never ever have anything containing sugar and he also mentioned about uncontrollable diarrhea . She's a high school teacher so she could not take that chance. Wishing all the people that are now non-banded success on ther weight loss journey -
can't believe im finally banded!

Welcome back and good luck! -
Hi there! I'm from FL TOO! I live in Titusville but my surgeon is in St Petersburg. I could have gotten banded in Melbourne but I attended 3 different seminars. The doctor in Melbourne was cold, clinical and matter of fact. He was not interested in building a rapport with his patients. So I travel from Titusville to St Petersburg once a month until I hit the green zone. I still have not hit that spot yet but I love the drive from the East coast to the West coast. I get to see the beautiful west coast beaches. The sand is like sugar on the west coast. Anyway aside from the traveling time I have a good rapport with Dr Rehnke. I can at least hold a conversation with him and not feel like a number. By the way I was banded on 12/28/12 and had to have a port revision on May 10th. My port flipped so I had to have ambulatory day surgery to have it repositioned. Hopefully after my next fill I'll be in the green zone. Good luck to all my Floridian pals!

Dana, I'm sorry for all your troubles, but the band was very new when you had it in the 90's. I mean everything is trial and error until they work out the kinks. My daughter is going for gastric sleeve on June 18th. I'm worried to death about it but her doctor no longer does bands. I'm in my 60's and I felt the band was the best for me. Maybe if I was in my 30's I may have a different attitude towards the band but I'm happy with my decision. The reason I went for psychological counseling was eye opener. The psychologist said right away there could be major complications and that I could gain all my weight back as well. So, I first thought oh great, another door for me to fail. I was prepared however to take my chances and I'm glad I did. I'm sorry for your problems but I think most of us knew what we were getting into. I wish you well no matter what.

Ditto to everyone about the greasy food. I can no longer eat bacon. I just smell smoked bacon (which I love) and I have to be near a bathroom. The other thing that affects me is the preservative they use at buffets to keep the vegetables fresh looking and to keep the lettuce stay that bright green color. So I avoid salad bars as much as possible. I love these foods but they don't love me lol.
