    Cigna Denied

Most insurance companies deny the first time around. Mine did and after the appeal and medical necessity it went through. If you did everything according to the insurance requirements hopefully CIGNA will pass you and approve everything this time. Insurance companies are notorious for denying claims. They don't want to lay the big bucks if they can help it. Hoping for positive results on your appeal. Good luck!

    disappointing myself

Well, congratulations on your 40 lb weight loss. Ask your doctor what he thinks is right for you. It's a slow process but if you feel you're doing everything right you might want to consult with your doctor and a nutritionist. Good luck!

    Alcoholic Beverages...

Well my doc told me no NSAIDS at all liquid or pill form. I have very bad osteoarthritis and I'm afraid to take anything for fear of erosion. I'll suffer with my pain than take a chance.

    3 weeks post op...

I agree with go walking, Lapband is not a lose weight quickly type of tool. Your seminars and your psych evaluation should have told you that. My psychologist even warned me that I could gain all my weight back if I didn't listen and follow instructions to the letter. The Lapband is merely a tool that makes you eat less. It is a gradual weight loss of 1-2 lbs a week. It's not drastic like you might see in some weight loss surgeries. I'd rather gradually lose it than rapidly lose it. If I lose weight too quickly, I'm probably going to gain it back quickly. You will have to watch what you eat for the rest of your life. I don't deprive myself either but I log every calorie I eat in my fitness pal. It keeps me accountable for whatever goes in my mouth. Don't get discouraged either, if you're doing everything right the weight will come off slowly but surely. Welcome to the world of Lapband! :-)

    did I do damage?

I'm hoping you went to the doctor. I mean it sounds more like you should go the ER if you're "waiting" for an appointment. The situation you describe cannot and should not wait!

    Tighter at Times?

Yes, yes and yes! Like today I could barely eat, yesterday , I was able to eat normal, then there are days I feel totally famished.

    Pre-Op diet

You're going to be fine. Some people lose slower than others. I also was on a two week pre-op and lost 5 lbs at the end of the two weeks. Don't expect giant weight losses with the lapband. You should average 1-2 lbs a week if you're doing everything as instructed. Look at it this way 1 lb a week is 52 lbs in a year and that is awesome! I'm sure you're going to do well, good luck!
  12. I had doubts as well but mainly because I was starting this journey during the Christmas season. My pre-op was started on 12/14/12 and my surgery date was 12/28/12. I had the attitude that it was now or never. I didn't want "never" to be an option so I went for it. I was scared too but everything went well and I feel I made the right decision. Good luck to you!
  13. I did fine. I was on clear liquids for 3 days and two weeks after that I went on a 7 day cruise and did great I couldn't eat a lot but my doctor knew I was going on the cruise. I did well and went to my doc's office after the cruise showing a 10 lb loss. I couldn't eat the filet mignon but I did taste it. If your doctor is OK with your diet and you're losing go for it!
  14. Well, I'm not anywhere near goal but I hear about you when it comes to buying sizes. I just bought a size 18-20 swimsuit, naturally I can't return it but I figured I was a size 20-22 so I must be an 18-20. Wrong, the swimsuit is too big and I can't get it into my head that I'm a smaller size.

    Cheated

Well let's be honest here. My granddaughter decided to bake chocolate chip cookies. Grandma here decided to measure out a teaspoon of cookie dough from scraping the bowl. Guess what 130 calories! Onto my fitness pal. Before banding I would have scraped that bowl clean. We all add extra calories that are not the best for us but next time I'm going to think twice before "wasting" my 130 calories on a teaspoon Of cookie dough. Fruit would have been a better option and healthier but what's done is done. I'm eating healthier the rest of the day. By the way, I love sour patch kids and cheezeits myself but those are trigger foods for me so I avoid them. Don't even get me started on movie theater popcorn lol.

    First fill complete.

Well, I will be going for my 4th fill in August and I can hardly wait. I haven't hit the green zone yet but I'm hoping. I've never gotten stuck on anything so I'm pretty lucky that way.

    my Secret place.....

My boyfriend whom I have lived with since 1998 (I've know him since 1988) knows I go on this site. He doesn't care to participate in it at all. My doctor would love for him to be banded but he was against me having the surgery but I live my own life, he's used to me by now. Anyway, he knows I'm on this site, so it's no secret to him. I enjoy LBT very much!

    My favorite NSV!

Love it! I too did not have to ask for an extension." Not to sure about the roller coaster though. I feel like I'm losing my stomach to begin with so don't know how I would react with band.
