You can do this! I found my pre-op diet got better each day. Just remember the prize you're striving for and it will be so worth it.

No problem with bananas whatsoever. I eat them about once a week and I eat it for the potassium.

That's what I like about you B-52, you're so thorough with each inquiry. I would have thought that as a band tolerance question but the fact that a calorie count on the sushi was mentioned it could have been a caloric diet inquiry. Personally speaking, I love sushi but cannot tolerate white rice related to the band.

Thank God you knew enough to do your due diligence by doing your homework. Often, there are people with health issues who are so desperate to lose weight that they won't even reveal such a serious medical issue such as yours. Good for you and shame on that surgeon. My surgeon was forthright with my health concerns and thank God he made sure I was healthy enough to have this surgery. Kudos to that PA for being so honest with you. I hope all goes well with you and your Barrett's condition.

LAPBAND DIDN'T WORK FOR ME

I actually I get to the point where my chest starts to feel tight. It's not a feeling of fullness but a signal that I have to stop eating because I feel I'll have a problem if I eat another bite. Like I said it's not a stuffed full feeling. It's more like a stop signal.

Aww... It's hard with all the temptations around us. Remember, the pre-op diet is only temporary and the rewards you reap will be so worth it! Good luck!

Congratulations! Happy banding!

My mom had GASTRIC BYPASS and now her doctor is suggesting the lapband over it ...
dawalsh replied to Live4life's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I've heard of it and also that good results can be obtained. The good thing is if the band doesn't work it can be taken out. It is also the least invasive surgery. I wish your mom well. It 'S nice to know she has such a caring daughter. -
I know I've got to cut my calories although to maintain my weight and not gain I could eat 2100 calories with moderate activity. I eat between 1500-1600 calories. I know as I lose weight my caloric intake should probably be less. I'm 5'8" tall so I'm tall considering.

Where R my Struggling Bandsters? There's still hope!

Wow you look terrific! I'm struggling with an A-hole for a PCP. He feels I should have lost at least 20 lbs. among since 12/28. I've lost 47. I'm happy with 47 but he expected me to lose 100 by now. Slow and steady wins the race I say. -
Fascinating and valuable resd! Thank you!

Yes, I had fluid drained from my port area in April but it was not from the 1cc band. It was fluid that had collected.i freaked out myself, but everything is fine now.

I love salads as well. I have had no problem whatsoever with salad. I do chew the lettuce up quite a bit but love salads

Slipped band! Have to have surgery again =(
dawalsh replied to TamaraKaye's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, congrats on your weight loss! You surely have done your due diligence to keep that weight off. Like Ms 73 said it probably slipped because you had been vomiting. It sounds like they caught it early enough just to reposition it. I am positive you will lose those 50 more lbs and you will strive to keep it off. Wishing you the best! -
