    More blood clots!

I am so sorry you're going through this. If f you read Ms.73's posts and blogs you will see she went through the same thing and it took her awhile to recover. I worry about blood clots as well because I had clots in my legs and lung when I was pregnant with my last child. I was hooked up to heparin for a long time and I was very high risk because if all my medical problems. I do have a greenfield filter implanted in me since 1990 and I'm doing well thank God. I'm sending hugs and prayers your way that you have a speedy recovery.

    Expecting Lap Band removal

I'm so sorry you are having issues with your band. I've had two strokes back in the 80's and I was curious about how you thought you were having a stroke. I have residual paralysis from my massive stroke in 1980 and my symptom from that one was having the worst headache in my life. I don't wish that on anyone so I can imagine how scared you were. I'm a big believer in the man upstairs and that's why I'm no longer wheelchair bound. I'm praying for you that all goes well and you get the relief you need from the band removal. I personally have had no issues with my band as of yet except for my port flipping but that was a quick day surgery fix. Best of luck to you!

Doing my homework and getting serious

Well, it sounds like you've done your homework! I had my band done on 12/28 which meant skipping all those holiday goodies but it was worth it for me. Best of luck!

    2 days away and sick...

Your patient advocate is a wise choice. I know if you have a temperature they'll postpone surgery anyway so best to find out through your advocate.

    Starting my Journey Today

Actually, I found the Optifast diet very easy and I had no problem but I was psyched up for it. I started my pre-op on 12/14/12 right in the heart of the holiday season. I could have postponed my surgery but I figured it was now or never. It was no more I'll start my diet tomorrow or Monday so I was so psyched up for it that it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Best of luck to you and you can do this!

    Totally Discouraged :(

All I can say is ditto to everyone who's posted on this thread and congratulations on losing 60 lbs! That's awesome. You know, everybody loses at a different rate. Sadly, I have a PCP who thinks I am not losing fast enough and I just don't lose at a fast rate. My PCP also felt like your dietician that I must be doing something wrong. I've lost 50 pounds since 12/14. I'm thrilled with my weight loss as is my surgeon but I do go to my surgeon faithfully once a month since being banded on 12/28. The Lapband is not a "set it and forget it" type surgery. I'm glad to go see my surgeon even though he s a 2 1/2 hour drive away. I could have gone to a surgeon who was closer but I have to build a rapport with a doctor. After attending several seminars I knew this doctor was for me. He was considerate of my high risk and disabilities and I was just not a number to him. The fact that you have not gone back to your surgeon to discuss your issues has me concerned. You need to get that band of yours straightened out. It sounds definitely severe enough to be thoroughly checked. Finally , please don't get discouraged. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it's up to you to find that light. You've got to get back to your doctor and find the green zone. You may not need a fill every month but uou've got to follow up with your doctor just to make sure everything is OK. I wish you nothing but the best and wipe away those tears because you have a community here that will show you nothing but love and support. Hang in there and lots of (((hugs))) to you!

    One year anniversary!

Very, very inspiring! Congratulations! I wish I could show your post to my PCP. My PCP will not recommend the lapband to any if his patients because according to him I'm not losing fast enough. I've lost 50 lbs since 12/28. When I was in his office last week I had ONLY lost 47 lbs since surgery. He called the lapband a miserable failure (yes, his exact words). I was supposedly the "poster child" among his patients and the first one to have lapband surgery. I see a post such as yours and I know that the lapband is a success. It's stories like yours that keep me inspired and motivated. Thank you for your post and congratulations! Happy first anniversary!

    Backsliding

That's what brought me here when I joined. I wanted to read the good and bad or negative aspects of the band. I also love the caring support I receive from this forum. I'm looking forward to following your journey. Good luck!

    Backsliding

I love my fitness pal too! I'm under the username dawalsh OR tutti517 if you want to be a MFP buddy. MFP keeps me honest with my calorie count and I've gone over my calorie limit 3 times since Dec. I hate when I see the red numbers but it keeps me aware.
