Congratulations and good luck!

I can't say I've gotten there yet but hitting a plateau can be frustrating. I'm sure that increasing your activity might help. Good luck!

You are still healing and your swollen so until the swelling goes down just follow your doctors orders. You will never eat like you did before but that being said you can have an occasional splurge but you should count calories. With the band it should be a lot easier to stick to your calories. Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it. Best of luck to you!

8 days post op. and feeling helpless.
dawalsh replied to TexasKat's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Can you go on full liquids like creamed soups? Ask your doctor or nutritionist. -
You should do fine, so don't be netvous, just follow your doctor's guidelines.

Wow, that's great! I am slowly getting there. Hopefully, it will be soon. I was banded (no plication) on 12/28/12. I started at 267 and I'm out of town and. It near a scale but I'm hoping when I get home I'll have a great loss. My clothes are starting to fall off so hopefully soon. It's frustrating not sing near a scale but that could be a good thing I suppose.

Can to many adjustments cause a port flip?
dawalsh replied to pcosmommyof4's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My port flipped 4 months after surgery. Mine flipped because of trying to sleep on my stomach. It was a simple day surgery fix and I am having no problems with my port. My doctor is conservative with his fills but I'm OK with that. I hope you have no problems but as you can read from this forum results vary, most have a positive feedback. Wishing you well. -
Which Bariatric vitamins, minerals and other dietary supplements do YOU take ?
dawalsh replied to Alex Brecher's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I take Centrim silver chewable vitamins as I'm over 60. -
How big is your band? My doctor is very conservative with his fills and I've had my band 8 months. I'm still not st the green zone but I'm ok with that because I've learned a new way of eating. I'm aware of what I eat and I log my calories everyday so at least I'm being disciplined to a healthier way of eating. I'm hoping I'll hit the green zone soon.

I'm so proud of you B-52 and yes, the band did its work but so did you or you wouldn't be at where you are today! Congratulations!

What a lovely progression chart! You look fabulous!

Good for you! I never liked Hostess Twinkies but my kids grew up with them and they are glad they're back.

I found soups to be a good option when I was first banded. When I came across chicken noodle as an option I would just drink the broth. When I got on full liquids creamed soups were good. When you get to the solid stage appetizers are a good option. You can order unsweetened iced tea or water for a beverage and hold off drinking it until the end. I find water with lemon a good option. You'll eventually adjust to your new lifestyle and you'll get so used to it so hang in there!

That was a great move on your part.

I've got to start buying smaller sizes. I was 3x for years but was down to 2x when I started the pre-op diet but now I'm down to size 20 and it's gotten loose but I still don't have the guts to try a size 18. I think I fear it won't fit. I'll get the nerve to try an 18 soon but it's still hard for me to realize I've lost weight because to me I look the same in the mirror.

Wow, what an accomplishment! You look fantastic! -
Are you taking small sips of water? Also, that chest pain is gas most likely. You have to walk it off also, were you given any medicine for pain? It took me at least two weeks to recover but it sounds normal to me what you're going through. Be sure to call your doctor's office if you're not sure because only your doctor can help you best.
