Messed up a little?
dawalsh replied to Faded Design's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't worry you'll be fine. I had some high sodium broth by mistake and it did not make a difference but Missy is right. The water will help flush out the excess sodium. -

Had a really bad episode today, emergency visit to see my surgeon
dawalsh replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stopped eating regular bagels but I do toast the bagel thins by Thomas. I toast the thin sliced bagel, add Smucke's sugar free marmalade and I take very small bites but I've never had a problem with a regular bagel either. I'm just very cautious and take tiny bites -
Pre-Op diet why do I feel guilty??
dawalsh replied to bosscookie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I've been there but you have to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and say from now on I'll do better. -
Well, I can certainly see why my surgeon is so conservative. He only does a tiny fill every time and I'm OK with that. I still am careful with what I eat and count my calories for everything. It's a 2 1/2 hr drive to my surgeon's office but I'll go every month until I get it right. I'm going for fills every 4-6 weeks and I'm banded 8 months. If it takes me over a year so be it. At least I'm practicing good eating habits in the process. I'm hungry still but I keep reminding myself that keeping my portions under control is key. There are so many times that I want another helping but won't do it because that was one of my old habits going for an extra helping. I refuse to give in to my head hunger and hope I get to that green zone someday. :-)

Are you eating at all? Also, where did you get the 4cc band? I thought they didn't use the 4cc band anymore. How long have you had your band?

Wow, great to hear because I'm 8 months out and still have not hit the sweet spot. So happy to hear from you!

Thank you, it's been rewarding wading your posts and learning from them.

Horrible candy craving!!!
dawalsh replied to Kathy =^..^='s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Atkins has Endulge bars that might satisfy that craving and it is Vitamin and mineral packed to a degree but not as much As a protein bar. My big, bad addiction was Good N Plenty licorice candy. I used to eat a 6 oz box every 2 to 3 days. It literally was amn addiction but since the band I don't even want it anymore. -
I'm not a doctor and I don't want to scare you but many years ago I had similar sumptoms and wound up having a massive stroke. My friend took me to an ER and they sent me home saying I had a virus. Three weeks to the day it happened again with the symptoms, that's when I suffered the big stroke. The doctor Said that the episode 3 weeks earlier was probably a TIA (transient ischemic attack) also known as a. Mini stroke. Modern medicine can help people faster now. So, please get your problem looked at ASAP. I was only 32 years old when I suffered the massive and was in a rehab hospital for six months. I just think when you have symptoms you shouldn't wait. Best of luck to you!

If your doctor doesn't have an answering service for emergencies please go to your nearest ER. Not being able to breathe properly is serious .

I'll be honest with you. I felt like a Mack Truck had run me over but by the end of the second week it was not bad at all. Now I'm 8 months out and I feel great!
