    Heartbroken

My prayers and hugs for all involved. I'm just curious as to why she opted for gastric bypass over the band. God bless you on your endeavor and do it in memory of your friend.
  3. I too, think you look beautiful. I feel your pain however. My arms will never look good even if I have surgery so I'm between a rock and a hard place. God bless you.

    Starting Over

Good luck! Among with my other disabilities my body is riddled with osteoarthritis but I still remain positive. My journey may be slower than most others but I'm getting there and that's what counts!
  5. I went to several seminars before I was convinced it was right for me. It took me 3 years to start the lapband journey.
  6. I'm praying that third time is your charm. Insurance companies want our money right away but when it comes to us trying to get healthier they give us a hard time. Best of luck to you!

    Not happy :(

I'm disabled and have to take certain meds that prevent me from losing as fast as I'd like. Hang in there. I had a bout with Bell's Palsy when I was 18 yrs old so don't get discouraged. There is a higher power that will carry you through this .
  8. I'm a slow loser I have lost between 55 and 60 pounds since 12/28/12. If I have a water weight gain it could go up as high as 8 lbs so be patient. I get frustrated a lot but decided as long as I follow the rules it will come off even if it takes time. Patience is a virtue!
  9. My journey is a slow one. I have lost between 50 and 57

    PRE OP LIQUID DIET

Every doctor is different. I was told by his nurse that one cup a day with my half and half was fine. Just one cup however and I normally drink two cups a day..

I drank lots of broth, sugar free jello and sugar free Popsicles helped me a great deal.

Got to shout over my rumbles!!

    You gotta love it LNFAO!
  14. Hang in there sweetie, You're not the first to fall off the wagon, it happened to me during the Christmas holidays. I had 5 parties I had committed myself to. My surgery was 12/28! 3 days after Christmas! I was good for the most part but I did slip on a Christmas cookie or two. I picked myself up and started anew and now I'm doing well. Good luck to you
  15. Glory to God in the highest Amen! 3 weeks is a good recovery time and your numbers are fantastic! Wishing you the best on your journey!

    why did you choose lapband?

Less side effects than with bypass. My friend had bypass surgery and had terrible dumping episodes. She constantly had to be near a bathroom. Not only that, she has gained most of her weight back. That is why I prefer the band over other options.

    Pre-Op Diet...Help!!!

Loved the sugar free jello option it helped pull me through on the hungry hours. Also, sugar free Popsicles were a Godsend as well.

    Breakfast ideas

That's funny because my nurse encourages cream of wheat and egg whites (not whole eggs) Anyway, if you're worried about carbs I would be no help. This is a different breakfast idea however I just had the most incredible curry ginger cous cous with a slice of melted Swiss cheese on top. It was under 300 calories and delicious.
