The chocolate is killing me. Went to a travel tradeshow convention and almost every vendor had halloween candy! Mainly Kit Kats. Now just going to this tradeshow I found out thst Kit Kats come in white chocolate as well as milk chocolate. If that wsn't bad enough I'm doing a seminar at sea to learn how to charter themed cruises. Well, the last two cruisesI I was on I lost weight without restriction. So, now that I have a green zone feeling I'm not worried about food. However, chocolate is another story. I won't be too tempted but I still love chocolate. Which reminds me, I'll be doing my cruise to lose in mid 2014. If you're interested let me know by personal messaging me. It would be nice to meet other peopleon this forum!

It has taken me 10 months post op to finally start feeling restriction. I've had 8 fills and I'm just now not feeling hungry. It takes time.this is not a miracle cure. It's hard work. There is no easy way out. It will happen. You're doing well. Keep up your good work!

You get used to it after awhile. Going from solids to total liquids is hard but think of the reward waiting. Best of luck to you!

Well, I think it has finally happened but I'm not sure. I'm at a travel convention and normally I can eat whatever I want but am careful of my calorie count. So, normally, I still may feel a little hungry and have to play a head game to tell me I've had enough. Well, two days in a row I have literally had to stop eating after a few bites of food. I feel if I take another bite I'll get sick or stuck. This has happened for two days in a row and I'm not hungry! That's a good thing right? For all you newbies it does not happen overnight. I was banded 12/28/12. I have had 8 fills (my doctor is very conservative with his fills). Anyway, I'm hoping this is the green zone because I can honestly say now that about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of food literally fills me up now. I was actually wasting food and that never used to happen. I love it! I love my band but I love the fact that I was patient and it didn't happen overnight. I had a good mental attitude pre-band and made my mind up that it would not happen overnight and that I would be patient with a positive mental attitude! Wishing everyone well on their band journey and to please be patient. It will happen!

Good for you! I have not told anyone but family and yes, I'm working very hard at trying to be a success. I do have a disability that curtails me from some physical activity but out of the wheelchair and walking with a cane which to me is a victory in itself. My surgeon is proud of me but he said because of my type of disability I'll need to walk with a cane forever (my brain is permanently damaged due to a massive stroke I suffered many years ago). My point also being that my loss has also been slow but steady. I'm not in ONEderland yet but it's taking me a long time to get there. It seems like forever. My very highest weight was 289. Pre-op I was 267 and now I'm struggling between 210-214. It's driving me crazy. My surgery was 12/28/12. Good luck on your journey!

Simple answer- be sure to mention it to your doctor (PCP and surgeon). I'm not a doctor but I had that prior to surgery and my diagnosis was pre-diabetic and I was told to see an eye doctor as well. My blood sugar is doing well now and less black spots than before surgery. -
surgery in the morning...anxious

Good luck! -
I'm concerned because I know I'm not in the green zone yet. However , if I'm busy and wait too long to eat I get a nauseated feeling. Sometimes I get busy and I wait to eat and then I wait too long and I start to feel sick. Once I eat however, I feel better. I'm hoping my next fill will be my last fill. My doctor is extremely conservative and I'm good with that.

I'm a tour conductor and I took a 7 say cruise and I lost 8 lbs! I've decided to reward myself on my bandaverssary and book a special cruise with Laplanders. If anyone is interested in joining other Laplanders let me know and I'll arrange it. I think I lost weight just from walking everywhere on the ship but I made wise food choices and the chef was able to accommodate my diet. I take great pride in helping people with special needs take hassle free vacations and cruises so they can experience the world without limitations. That includes special diets, etc., when I told my doctor I was concerned about taking a cruise because of all the food around me, he said no one is putting a gun to your head to eat the food. I kept that thought in my head and he was right! No one stuck a gun to my head!. So, let's keep that thought and if anyone is interested in a lapbander cruise to lose let me know. Just PM. Me. Thanks!

Good for you Shazam! You are right, you're your own best friend when it comes to support. Sadly, many people have surgery think it's a free pass to eat and drink. I say everything in moderation is key. My daughter had the sleeve and she gained weight at her 6 week weigh in. She came in with a 2 lb gain! That's because she didn't follow the rules and kept eating bad foods like potato chips (which is her biggest downfall). Anyway, her doctor and nutritionist got on her case and she's doing better now. She belongs to the sleeve talk forum and she's better at following the rules. Best of luck to you and stick to your guns! We're here to support you but just remember supporting yourself is key as well!
