Can You Please Help Me Get Back On Track :-(
knhtown replied to John Picone's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Best thing is when we fall off we can dust ourselves off and start again! So glad you chose to start again with a great attitude. I absolutely love Myfitnesspal.com to log every single thing that goes in my mouth. I had no idea how things add up so quick! It is good to have friends their I get ideas from looking at what they eat (it displays the protein>carbs>calories>sodium etc in everything consumed) If you decide to log your foods to assist you can add me. my profile is knhtown STAY STRONG you can do this! -
My actual port is just below my big incision to the left and yes I had pain for some time after my surgery and still a month later when I stretch I still get a "twinge" Sometimes I feel a lil uncomfortable when laying on my side but that has gotten better. I am saying I think what you are feeling is normal and will get better.

Has anyone noticed the Pizza Hut ad on the right of your screen?

I see Lexus! Maybe someone should buy me one -
Congrats! 1st few days are hard but it gets easier and like the prior said keep your eye on the prize! I am only 1 month since banded but already had my high blood pressure meds removed and no longer pre- diabetic rated. I am able to walk without SEVERE back pain its all worth it!

Right now focus on healing and following what your Dr says to do. Are you getting in all your required fluids and protein? Are you tracking your food? It has helped me tremendously to log my food on Myfitnesspal.com If you want to start using this I would be willing to help you and you can add me as a friend. My log in name is knhtown. Also just like the name of your post "STAY STRONG" It will come off.

I even sneek some healthy stuff in what I cook for my son shhhhhh

Glad you are trying again. I went back to work next day but I work from home I felt like I could have taken 3 days off and would not have suffered as much. Everyone is different.

1st fill tomorrow.....scared!!!!
knhtown replied to meganb0216's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had my first yesterday banded 2/27 They asked me what I was eating and how much and if I felt restrict (so they could decide how much fill or not. I had no restriction and they gave me 2 cc's The technician had me lay on the table and he found my port by pushing on my tummy below the big incision and put the needle in. He stated he knew he was in the port because he could pull what he was putting in. To be honest the place he stuck me was numb and I felt a lil quick pressure but no sting and I HATE NEEDLES I never looked at them. I take diuretics with my bp meds and it always takes people 2-3 tries for iv or drawing blood and I totally dread them. It was so uneventful I said "are you done, that's it?" Hoping yours works out the same -
I post this here so I can refer back to it often. 1) Where you are in life isn’t a measure of your full potential. It’s a measure of how you’ve played life’s cards SO FAR. 2) It’s never too late to play your hand a different way. 3) If you challenge YOURSELF every day, you’ll have more experience when LIFE challenges YOU. 4) Just like muscles need to be broken down to get stronger, sometimes we need to be broken down mentally and emotionally to get stronger in their respective senses as well. 5) Sometimes the people that you thought were good in your life were actually the people stepping on your head. 6) Surrounding yourself with positive and uplifting people, thoughts, pictures, quotes, experiences, etc. is the way to FEEL like you are living a positive and uplifting life. The same is true for the opposite. 7) HUGE personal successes start with a LOT of smaller efforts that build a solid foundation for that success. 8) When you don’t believe in yourself, other people don’t believe in you either. When you DO believe in yourself, people get blown away by everything you accomplish. 9) Some of the same people that see you turn your life around for the better will try to bring you back down to their level in order to feel good at the level they are STILL at. 10) When those people start to succeed in bringing you down, FIGHT HARDER! KEEP your goals, and know that you STILL have MORE potential to unleash! 11) NEVER GIVE UP! When you give up, you are saying, “I’m not worth it.” 12) KNOW that you ARE worth it! 13) Life isn’t easy or fair. The people that fare the best are the ones that adapt in difficult situations. Teach yourself to adapt! Get creative! 14) The same routine yields the same results. If you’re unhappy, CHANGE something. 15) Patience! 16) “When you were in high school, college, etc…” < Stop living in the past! Live in the present! 17) Stop making excuses! Admit you’re flawed like the rest of the world, and figure out a way to be the BEST version of yourself. 18) The best version of YOURSELF? What is that? Figure it out. Experiment. Stop looking to others for easy answers to YOUR complicated personal battles. 19) Be proud of yourself! 20) Taking pride, and being a self-absorbed tool bag are NOT the same. So relax, and talk about your accomplishments a little. It’s OK! You might even inspire someone else! 21) Stop worrying about failure, and “what ifs.” Focus on what you WILL do instead. When you decide to do something, you find a way to do it. When you worry about failing, you find a way to do IT too. 22) Taking care of YOU should be a PRIORITY. It doesn’t make you selfish. It means you have self-respect. Besides, everyone knows you can’t be fully present for others when you’re not for yourself. Win-win. 23) Take out the trash. You’re not a dumpster, so get rid of the garbage in your life. (Whatever that garbage is- people, food, habits…etc.) 24) Allow yourself to be human and have “bad days.” You’re not a superhero. Get over it. 25) When you DO have bad days, find a way to re-inspire yourself. Even if it’s just by making a list of things you’ve learned in life and sharing it in on the internet 26)Patience! 27)Remove the Drama from your life!

Mine is still high but not where it used to be

I am very excited, headed to see my surgeon this afternoon. I haven't seen him since surgery and haven't weighed myself since pre-op, I have a gut feeling -literally that this will be good! The biggest thing I see is my tummy that used to be so boated and hard like I was fat and 9 month preggers. Is lets say a lot less out there! I used to drink 4-6 Diet Dr peppers a day and walked away from them completely (any carbonated drink) on 2/20) so if my weight loss "number" is not as great as I expect its ok I no longer look pregnant just fat LOL and I fully understand it took years to get that way and its going to take hard work and long time to get back. So Im celebrating today 1 month towards getting sexy back

I looked just like that! ty

I can understand your points about being hard on yourself I do the same thing. It sounds like to me you have the right mindset Weight loss, YOUR way and nothing wrong about a healthy slower loss. But what I get from your post overall is you have a great attitude towards this and an internal monitor that is not going to let you fail at this! Keep up the good work!

WAY TOO GO!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work.

Pre-op I thought I must really enjoy food to eat so much lol.... Actually until I was banded and started eating healthy did I truly know what food tastes like. Im not trying to say that cheesy tex-mex or fried food tasted bad. Im saying eating healthy food and really TASTING it. Maybe its that Im actually paying attention to what is actually going on instead of mindlessly eating from boredom, comfort or whatevers. I have become the quite the cook! I look up recipes usually go to pinterest healthy section and see stuff I like by the pics then ingredients and try it. Made some quinoa lime salad, seasoned baked chickpeas, avocado-chicken salad, Califlower crust pizza. Alot of the stuff I cook I didnt even know what it is. Who Knew stuff that is good for you actually taste good and I look forward too. I havent had a fill and honestly I could eat as much as I want but I chose not too and what I do choose I ask myself does this fit in with my Under 1000 calorie goal?

Today I was very excited I got out of the shower and the towel touched around my body like it went all the way around and touched the other side LOL. AND I bent at the waist and tied my shoes ( I used to have to put my foot up on something to tie them or leave them so loose I could slip them on tied. I am very excited! This sums it up for me...............................
