  1. One year and 3 days and 54# gone. I should be happy right??? BUT I am hungry. I have had 3 fills since my surgery. I think I am around 3-3.5cc in my band. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with the weight loss but I feel like it has been a constant battle. I didnt think the band would end all of my eating issues. I know it is a tool to weight loss but it is a constant struggle for me. I feel that all foods go down without any problems. I am watching my diet and exercising. I am not really sure the band has done anything for me. I know in the last year, I have not always made the right food choices(bad habits are hard to break). I know that there are days that I should have went to the gym(laziness got the best of me). Overall, I have made many changes in my life and am pleased with my results. Just getting a little frustrated that I feel hungry. Any thoughts...do I just need to keep getting fills until I hit my sweet spot....is there an issue with my band....Thanks!

    Frustrated and Hungry

I have had my routine checks with my surgeon. He feels that if you are losing weight, you do not need a fill. I have had to really talk with him to get the 3 fills that I have gotten. I am scheduled for another recheck in about 3 weeks. I am hoping for another fill.... I am determined and I WILL NOT FAIL. Thanks for all your advice!
  3. I was banded on 5/14/13. I am down 29#. I went in for my first fill and my doctor thought I was doing good and didn't need a fill. I do feel restriction. I am eating 4 small meals throughout the day and am feeling full. I guess it is a good thing that I dont need a fill. I have started to work with a personal trainer and doing cardio atleast 4 days per week. I am a little concerned that all of the sudden I will start to feel hungy and then have to try to get in quickly for a fill.

  7. Ever since I was banded on 5/14/13, I have had bad breath. I can brush my teeth and use mouth wash but always have a bad taste in my mouth. I really think at times my breath could kill someone. YIKES! Anyone else experienced this?
  8. Today, I really upped my water intake and I dont feel like my breath is as bad. The taste in my mouth has also decreased.

I had surgery on 5/14. I am still on liquids. I dont advance my diet for another 5 days. I then go to pureed. I have to admit that I am fighting hunger twinges.

    6month Surgiversary

    Congratulations!
  15. I had my first pre-op appointment yesterday. I am excited to say on the doctor's scale, I am down 16.6# since my last visit with him. While I am extremely happy with the weight loss...I am tired and weak. I am disappointed on how I am feeling. I truly need to look at my diet and make adjustments. I am finding it very hard to get in the protein, which I know I need to heal and stay healthy. I am a huge sweets fan but I do not want to taste another SF pudding, yogurt or protein shake. How does regular protein powder change the tastes of liquids? Thanks in advance for any ideas!
  16. I did pick up the New Whey Protein Drink. Not very tasty but well worth the Protein. Thanks to all suggestions!

So what's your Eating Rules Score?

I downloaded the book and read it. love it! Great suggestion!
  18. My thought on the band was it was not physically changing my anatomy, less invasive and reversible.
  19. Missy--Thanks for the suggestions will def try for added protein
  20. 5-14-13--The day that I will be banded. The day that starts a new journey in my life. I am scared, anxious, happy and extremely excited. I have learned so much from this site. I have found inspiration from all the success stories here. I look forward to being the next success story! Good Luck to All....
  21. Good Luck Tomorrow!! I am 3 days post op. I had the same feelings as I am sure many others did to. The fears and the nervousness has subsided and now I am just excited for the future!

    Tomorrow is My Day

Thank you all for your prayers and warm wishes! I appreciate all the support. To the others banded on the 14th, hope this finds you doing good. I had some issues with post op nausea which has subsided. Gas and incisional pains continue but only needing to take Tylenol on occasion. I am looking forward to feeling!back to my old self but with new healthy habits! Again thanks to all!

    May banders!

My surgery date is May 14th. First day of pre-op diet down. Good Luck to All Fellow May Banders!!
  24. I am scheduled for May 14th. Tomorrow starts my pre-op diet. Good Luck on your next stretch of your journey!
  25. My last pre-op appointment was today. Pre-op testing completed and all paperwork sent into insurance for reivew for approval. Tentative surgery date scheduled for May 14th. I cant wait! On the other hand, I was rereading the pre and post op diets. It is a little overwhelming. I have to remember that I want to be healthy and a few weeks of liquids will be easy when I think of the long term benefits! 6 weeks...let the count down begin!
