I am a lap band patient converting to the gastric sleeve on August 24th.  I have had my lap band for nine years and at the six year mark I started having major issue of vomiting.  My band was unfilled when it was decided it was too tight by an endoscopy.  I only had three cc's in it total.  I was down to 159lbs but after three years I have gained weight back.  The band has to come out.  Its been hell and I would not recommend it because it becomes an 80 percent failure rate at ten years.  Do yourself a favor and do not get the band.
