Day 2 pre op starving
StephGabbard replied to misscarrie36's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Was right there with you about 4 weeks ago and know exactly what you are going through. It gets easier around day 4 or 5 and then u will just get fed up with it the last 2 days and wish it was over with. Just hang in there. Best part is that u have less than 2 weeks to go. -
Just think of it this way... A minor bump in the road and just as soon as you have the baby you can get back on track to losing the weight you want. And you don't have much longer till then. Hang in there

Any February 2013 Bandsters?

You need to try and get as much Protein in as u can cause it helps the healing process. I know it hard. I didn't want to eat anything for a couple of days after surgery either. I didn't have glue but they put steri strips on my incisions. I am 1 week post op and I am just now starting to actually be hungry at times but still can't eat much. Hang in there -

Had surgery yesterday and the pain at my port site feels like something is pulling and tearing. It takes my breath and stops me dead in my tracks. Please tell me that's normal....

Any February 2013 Bandsters?

Have surgery tomorrow!!! Anxiety has set in but I a extremely excited to start this new chapter in my life. -
Tried just about everything for stretch marks but the best thing I've used was Pond's cold cream for your face. Does wonders....I even put it on after I lay in the tanning bed and I don't peel

Ok I almost have this pre-op diet in the bag and have my surgery Wednesday... I am so so excited!!! Now that I look back 2 weeks of liquids have flew by but anxiety is starting to kick in and I am really nervous about the pain and stuff after surgery. People at work keep asking me if I am afraid to be put to sleep and I tell em "Shoot no, that's the best sleep u can get!" They think I am crazy but what I worry about is after surgery. The gas pain I think will be worse than the soreness from the incisions and that seems to be the case with the other threads I have read by previous bandsters. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Help I start my 3 week liquid diet Thursday
StephGabbard replied to JennB1869's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did your surgeon give u a list of things u could have on the diet? I am on day 7 of my 2 week pre-op diet and its mostly liquids with the exception of yogurt and 2 cups of fruit a day. Every doctor is different on what u have to do. If its the shakes u r worrying about go online and try to find medifast shakes or arbonne shakes. My surgeon has me drinking the arbonne shakes right now. But I prefer medifast because they taste better and have more variety. My surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday and the liquid diet has been a killer but u can do it. Just keep thinking about the big step u are about to take in changing your life for the better. -

I use to drink medifast shakes and those were probably the best protein shakes I have tried. U might be able to order them online but my surgeon has me drinking arbonne shakes right now for pre-op. not too bad but a little chalky tasting. I think u can order those online as well and cause they sale all different kinds of products like beauty products, dietary supplements, spa supplies and the list goes on. I also googled recipes for band patients and some protein shakes popped up. -
Day 6 of the liquids and today is a little easier than the others. The hardest thing is having to fix supper for my kids. The smell of food is indescribably painful LOL. But I have a wonderful boyfriend that has made it easier and he won't eat regular food around me and has actually done mostly liquids with me. Still trying to keep myself busy, u can only clean a house so spotless and now I have to get motivated to do something else. Closer to being a new me and that motivates me more than anything. I have struggled with my weight my entire life and tried every diet imaginable but the band will be something totally different. That will be my little buddy for the rest of my life LOL. This website has helped me tremendously too and thanks from the bottom of my heart to everyone that has given me a pep talk or pick me up . That means so much to me. Again THANKS!!!!

Thanks for the help. I need it lol. I just like to know that I can talk to somebody that is going through the same thing or already been through it and give me insight on what's to come.

I do. I have made tons of jello and more jello. I can have 8oz of low fat yogurt and broth and I am trying to mix all of those up. Good thing is I have lost 6lbs Of my 4 days. Drinking a lot of water and peeing myself to death LOL. Today was the first day that I woke up and my hands weren't swollen. Been trying to keep myself busy and not think about eating real food.
