Hi so I have had my band since June 4th, with two fills. I have another fill in a couple days, but I don't know if I need it loosened or tightened. I will admit, I have been throwing up a little, but I am not losing weight???? I don't get it, can someone explain what's going on, and if I actually need my band loosened?

3 weeks Post-op, Hungry?
Rgreen99 replied to Rgreen99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone! I was wondering what bandster hell was lol. I really appreciate all the support! good luck everyone!!! -
Hello! I wanted to ask if it is normal to feel, well, the same as you did before you got the band, hunger wise? I feel as hungry as I did before surgery, and I hope this is normal. I've never thrown up or seriously over eaten, and did well on my post-op diet. Help?? Thanks everyone!

Hello! I haven't posted anything for a while, but I'm glad to be back! I'm just a little over 3 weeks since I've had my surgery! I've lost 28 lbs and I'm so excited about it. I wanted to ask if anyone else has had issues with their immediate family or close friends nagging them about being on a diet before your first fill? My mother is constantly on me about what I can and can't eat( right now I can eat a normal diet, just no tough meats), has anyone else had this issue? How do I handle this and make her understand? Thanks!

Hello! So it's been a week and a day since I had my lap band surgery! I have lost 20 lbs, and I feel great! I haven't felt like I've been recovering from surgery at all, my life is back to normal as it was, including the foods I can eat. I have followed my post-op diet pretty well, but have noticed when I slip up that some foods they say will bother you, don't. An example, my family and I went to eat Mexican food a few nights ago, and I ordered refried beans( on my doctors list), but they came with a side of rice( not on his list). I ate some rice , and had no problem with it at all? I know no matter what I should follow my doctors list, but it's difficult...

Hey I'm not June 5th but I'm the 4th? I know what you mean about the food, but it's not so bad when your not hungry. I've lost 18 lbs so far and counting! I can't wait till I can advance on to normal food though! Good luck!

Good luck ArtM with your surgery tomorrow! And also everyone else who has surgery coming up soon. You will all do great! It's a good idea to have a checklist of things you'll need in the hospital and for after. A few things you'll probably need for your stay at the hospital are: Your favorite pillow, tablet, magazines, good movie( my room had a DVD player), good book, someone to support you, and your list of questions for the doctor or nurse. For your recovery you'll want: gas x strips( cinnamon flavor), liquid Tylenol, whatever pain killer your doctor writes you a prescription for, and a heating pad or the Bio-freeze cooling gel ( for the shoulder pain). All of you will do so well, I'm so excited! Good luck guys!

Don't beat yourself up too much about it! Obviously you should try your best to follow your doctors orders, but it isn't the end of the world. The day before my surgery I ate a subway sandwich... Lol. I also have a friend that had a cheeseburger and fries! You will be fine! This is the most difficult part there will be, but you can do it! Good luck!

I know how you are feeling lisamase, I had surgery the day after you did, everyday seems to be difficult so far, We just have to remember that it will all be worth it in the end!

The surgery is really not bad at all! I had never had any kind of surgery either, never broken a bone, no teeth pulled, like nothing lol. I had surgery on the 4th. The whole process was quick and seemed very relaxed to everyone! You will do great, so try not to worry about it

Yes I do, but I think I'm getting close to sleeping back on my side how I usually do! It's uncomfortable at first but you can do it! Lol

So today is the 3rd day( not including surgery day) since I got my band! I kinda just wanted to post something about my experience so far since I know most people on this thread are about to have their surgery very soon. The first day after surgery, I was just very very sore. It was Hard to get up and down, just a discomfort in your stomach. Try your best not to drop anything, because you won't be able to pick it up without some pain. A lot of people I know who have had the surgery recommend gas x strips. Thankfully, I haven't had to use mine much, but they come in handy to get rid of painful burps or hiccups. Overall it has been pretty easy, until today. Around noon I started to experience these horrible aches in my left shoulder. My friend who has a lap band had warned me about pain in your shoulder after surgery, and it is definitely painful. I found what works best for me is the Bio freeze roll on cooling gel. It worked within 5 min to get rid of all the pain. Now on a happier note, lol, after being on my liquid diet since Tuesday, I have already lost about 15lbs! I'm so excited for what's next! I hope some of the things I mentioned above will help you after surgery! Good luck everyone!!

What is considered non-clear liquids? What is considered mushies?
Rgreen99 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! So I had surgery just 2 days ago, on tuesday, June 4th! My doctor has said that I can advance to non-clear liquids on Thursday, then mushies on Saturday. I was wanting some advice on what is considered non-clear liquids and then mushies? Thanks so much for the help! -
Hi! I am having my surgery tomorrow morning, I was wondering if anyone had any tips on what I should bring for my surgery and recovery? Thanks so much!

Got my band this morning around 7 am, and was up walking around by 8:45 am! Surgery went great, mild soreness/ discomfort in stomach. I drank two water bottles today around noon- 4 pm, and I am still full. So excited for what's next! Good luck everyone!

Thanks everyone! I'm hoping everything goes well, about 2 hours before I leave and head to the surgery center! Not nervous yet! I hope that's a good thing lol!
-
Thank you guys so much! I don't know what I would do without everyone! Thanks again and good luck!

Surgery TOMORROW!!! I'm so excited, and surprisingly not nervous at all! Struggling with my Pre-op diet, but I've managed to pull through! Lol. Good luck everyone!

Hi, I saw both of the posts about your thirteen year old daughters getting the surgery. I'm 15 years old, and I'm getting my lap band tomorrow. Of course, I don't know your daughters, but for me, I have been thinking about the surgery for a little over a year. I wish I had planned to have my surgery when I was 13, that way I won't have already gone through half of high school being miserable. It is ultimately your decision for what is best for your kid, but I think they would be much happier and enjoy life while they are young and before their weight gets out of control if it hasn't already. Congratulations on your bands! Good luck to you both!

I'm so excited to hear about everyone's experiences with their bands! My surgery date is June 4th. Good luck everyone!

I'm 15 years old and my surgery is set for June 4th, 2013 and I am incredibly excited about this! I don't know how old your daughter is, but there are so many benefits my doctor told me about getting the lap band young. You should really look into it for her. Congratulations on your success!
