I had my surgery Feb 7 and so far I lost 30lbs, idk why but I feel disappointed in that. For some reason I expected it to be more, although its only been 4 months. But now I am doing terribly. I am not eating right I definitely fell off track and I need to hop back on! Eeek!!! Feeling so discouraged!

Well it started when I lost my babysitter and couldnt go to the gym. I fell into one of those "well i already messed up so why bother" modes. Now I am eating the wrong foods and im not exercising. I havent gained any weight but i also only lost 2 lbs in the past 5 weeks! I am only hurting myself and im not quite sure why but I need to get back on track.

Where can I find good recipes??? I just dont know what to eat anymore.

I was so emotional I cried for weeks after my surgery. It was a terrible feeling! It will get better!

I went for my 2 week post op visit yesterday. The NP told me to start a mushie diet and basically food has to be baby food consistency. She said everything needs to be blended. now... say what you want but I refuse to eat pureed food. I just cant do it, i will throw up and it will just be pointless! Any ideas for soft mushie foods?

I'm 2 weeks post op. I was doing some things around the house but nothing too strenuous. All of a sudden I started having pain where my port site is. Anytime I move it hurts really bad. It's a muscular pain. Did anyone else feel this?

Yes my left side did stick out more than my right

So I have been living with the band for a week now and last night I was in tears. I feel so frustrated and discouraged! My surgeon was good at performing surgery but I don't feel like he prepared me at all for this. Almost anything I've learned about life with lap band has been through this website. Yes he shared the facts with me but that's about it. I keep hearing people say this is a tool to weight loss.. Well what's the point in having a tool that you don't know how to use properly. Everyone here says they were on clear liquids for a week post op, my doctor discharged me and said start stage 4. What's stage 4 you ask? Well I had go go search his website when I got home to find out. Maybe it's my fault maybe I should be asking more questions but sometimes it's so overwhelming idk what questions to ask. I just feel like he should know what questions need to be answered seeings this is what he does for a living. Maybe I'm over reacting but I feel so upset and how do I explain my feelings to him?

I was never told to stay away from straws

I only told my mother and my best friend. I didn't say anything. I just took a couple of days out of work. Nobody even knows I went in for surgery. You dont have to lie about what your having, just don't say anything

Today I am exactly one week post op. I am feeling pretty good but I noticed I feel winded pretty easily. Like last night taking my kids upstairs and putting them to bed i had to keep stopping to catch my breath. I never had this issue before. Did anyone else feel this after surgery?

Well you are lucky you took a week off of work. I had my surgery on Thursday and went back to work the following Monday. I dont know what made me think that was enough time! I was miserable up until yesterday. But I feel fine shortness of breath is my only complaint. However, I do think I need to work on my Water intake a little more.

I was banded on 2/7/13. I guess I didnt expect to feel the way I do. It has been extremely uncomfortable. I just feel stuck like I am never going to feel normal again. I know i just had surgery and it takes time to recover but for some reason I feel some regret.

I think you should definitely ask about the recovery period. For some reason I figured I'd have surgery and heal in no time and just feel fine. I should have asked more questions and I feel like my doctor could have prepared me better. I had no idea what I had gotten into. I don't regret the surgery but the first 4 days were a struggle that I don't think I was prepared for. It made me depressed and regretful. But now I'm feeling much better and reassured. Good luck!

My first 2 days post op were hard. I think I was confusing gas pain for hunger pain. i felt like i was starving but i had no appetite, if that makes sense. Try some gas -x it might help

Your all lucky I have staples and they need to be removed 2 weeks post op which is a week from tomorrow
