At first I really wanted this. I still do but now with only 14 days to go I am eating and drinking like there is no tomorrow. The people on this forum give good advice but I am a BAD person, is there any more bad ppl out there? Yes I am drunk again!!!!!

I thank God for this site every day, I was trying to figure why I am scared, I had gastric balloon two years ago so I know the surgery drill (lost 17kgs and put it all back, once the balloon came out) in 2006 went from 100kgs to 65kgs with slimming tablets learned good eating habits small plate, portion control etc then had lapse and put all the weight back. So I have worked out that what I am afraid of is failing again. My husband is very supportive, but each time I do this I use loads of our hard earned cash. I get it though it is up to me to stand up, thank God I have got support, I am not going to fail coz I will do as you advise and follow doctors advise and stay on track. Thank you for your support. I am a bean counter who can't count (LOL) my surgery is on 21st March only 12 days.

I am doing fine and facing up to decision that was long overdue. I am so glad you keep it real, I can't tell you how much I needed a wake up call. I am counting down now only 22 days to go. I hope you don't mind but I follow everything you write you have become my Lap Band Hero. Looking forward to the day I can give something back to the site.

AWESOME you have such a pretty face both before and after. Congrats on your weight loss.

How do I get to the blogs from LapBandTalk? I am not sure I have the right app. I don't see people profiles either unless I google LapBand and go into program that way.

Thank you all for both the positive and negative comments, I was at a real low place yesterday but today I turn the corner and face up to want comes a stronger person. I know that by Christmas I will be healthy and happy.

Thank Dylan, I know C tells it like it is, I know she is trying to help me a( I beg her forgiveness) I am so very sorry I am drunk tonight I can' t express properly but thanks a million for your kind words. It just like I am at the point of take an overdose or have the band and rebuild but I am sooh scared of failing again please forgive me.

I am sorry Caroline, please don't give up on me. The only person at fault here is me. I don't normally drink or smoke, I am just in a bad pace ( in my head tonight). Why oh why am I here facing surgery, drinking eating and scared ****.

I don't want to say I am having lapband surgery, but I also am not good at lying. I also need o inform people at work for the purpose of continuity. Help!!!!!

Thanks, but I don't think you get me. I don't drink ( or smoke) either as a rule, I scared and I just wanted some reassurance wrong time, wrong place. I don't need counseling I just need some friends ( who are not perfect" banders " to understand and reassure me .

I get you Carolina, but your being harsh, all you lot who have had it done and succeeded are a big inspiration some day I might make but I am just asking if there are mere morels out there who are may be not quite as strong as you.

I am really looking forward to my surgery but every now and then I find I am getting butterfly's in my stomach.

I am not on a pre-op diet but I have set a few targets like no drinking alcohol (seven days without a drop now) and this week I am tackling the walking programmer. Got up bright and early and did 2.4 miles up and down hills. Is was not easy but I know it will get better. Only 25 days till surgery.

B I G congratulations and what an inspiration to the ones like me who are still waiting in the wings. If I can come back on 21st May 2014 and say I have lost 120lbs it will all be so worth it. Many thanks for your post.

I am not there yet, not having had the op, but if they have put in a band and made your stomach smaller then shouldn't you start losing weight right away?

Hi all surgery scheduled for 1st March, doc said no pre-op diet necessary, just wondering why some say pre-op diet and some say not. Also would like to know about sickness, do you throw up a lot? And finally what meds do they prescribe before you go home?

My surgery is only on 21st March and I keeping reading about the first fill, but do you actually start to lose the weight before your first fill?

Thank you so much Jim, I going to take my hubby (also Jim) along with me to the doctor, he doesn't mean to be discouraging but I get super sensitive, I have wasted a lot of money in the past so I am praying with all my heart this will be the answer.

Can I ask what is plication surgery? I have never heard of that. Congrats on ur weight loss though that is terrific and really inspiring.

I'm not really in a rush as I know and accept that a slow weight loss is best for you, here in SA we have to pay for the surgery so I am just worried that my hubby is going to think we have wasted money if he can't see it working right away. I can't imagine though being on liquids only and not losing weight. I guess it is a different journey for everybody.
