Hi there! I totally understand where you're coming from. I'm still waiting for insurance approval so my challenge isn't the diet part, mine is that my boyfriend suddenly decided that diet and exercise are crucial. Sounds great right? Then why do I feel so guilty? It's almost like he's exercising and eating right and looking at me wondering why I can't drop the wright on my own. He's also my support system but being around him lately just makes me feel worse about myself and makes me question my decision to have this surgery. Like you I'm on here for support. Hang in there. We all have our challenges and we all understand each other. Bottom line is we do this for us. -
Intro to the community, LapBand in March
raqmoj75 replied to NJHAZMAT's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi All, I'm new to the lap band community too! I downloaded this application a couple days ago and I've been hooked reading all the material since! I started my journey on December 2011. A new job and new insurance had stringent requirements to say the least. I completed my 7th month of nutrition counseling January 7 and learned that my surgeons office submitted my paperwork to my insurance last week. I'm waiting as patiently as possible, but what I really wanna do is call them and say "please hurry up!" <laughs> I'm 37, have 4 kids, work full time, and recently went back to school for my MHA. I've been overweight most of my life but it really got up there a couple years ago. I'm 5' 4 and tipping the scale at 202 as of this morning. Like many of you I'm scared, uncertain, anxious... I feel some guilt that I couldn't do it on my own and got this way to begin with, but I bring myself back to reality. The posts have helped alot and I know all of you will help me thru. So happy I found all of you . Raquel -

Chris A, Congratulations! What an exciting journey you've embarked on. I wish you the best. Like you, I've been "lurking" too. Reading everyone's posts has been so intriguing. It's wonderful to read the outpouring of support from everyone so we're in good hands. I'm still waiting for insurance approval. The submission was last week. Hoping I get a date soon. But Chris - like the Nike slogan says "just do it!". From the sounds of all the success stories and support on here, you're gonna be great! Raquel
