Hi! Welcome to the forums. I am still pre-op waiting for my surgery date. You sound like a good candidate for RNY. Of course this decision is totally up to the doctor as well. This isn't a diet, it's a life long commitment and lifestyle change. Like the others have said read everywhere and everything you can get your hands on about this change. There are two other sites that I know of besides this where you can find information. Nothing rocks like we do. Thinnertimes and obesityhelp. I am also ready a book called goodbye ED hello me. Its a series of books written by a woman with an eating disorder. Lol she is anorexic (spelling) but it talks about her approach to her disorder and how not to depend on food or her case no food for stress, boredom etc. I like it. This is for YOU. You have to want it, you have to own it. Its not goIng to be easy. I am 44 with fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, high blood pressure, depression, pain daily, tried to overdose on medication because I just could not handle the pain and stress. I am tired of hurting every day and a knee replacement is in my near future. I am an L.P.N. and haven't worked for 3 years and I miss it so. I have had a lifetime of junk food. Time to eat right so I can live again because now all I do is exist. Hopes this helps. Good luck and welcome.

I see my doctor tomorrow for my history and physical. Then I get a surgery date! Yayy! I threw my phone a week ago cause I was fighting with my husband. Anyway.... I have my vitamins, clear liquids, protein powder and I thInk I could wrIte my own bypass book frkm the knowledge I have learned etc. Down 17 pounds in 3 months. Seen the doctor today for my history and physical THEN they will schedule my surgery day. Good news no pre-op diet or colon cleanse, no blue die test, sill do an EGD and will wear a drain for 7 days after surgery. Come on come on I want a seat on the losers bench!

To Debbie G., I bought 2 oz reuseable baby food jars to have jello already made. I will the use them for travel later. I bought protein jello and unflavored proto . I bought syntax nectar as well.

I got the containers off amazon they have an orange lid. They were a little more pricey cause they have a space to write with a marker. Under 20$ they had blue ones cheaper 12$ and they have throw away kind like take home dressing. I. Don't have them yet but try amazon or ebay I have seen them on there both. Search 2 oz containers. If you can't find them let me know!

Crystal light or sugar free drinks to add to your water. I bought reuseable 2 oz baby food containers so I can make jello ahead of time and have them portioned out . Figured I could always use them when traveling or when I am done with them give them to one of my grown children when they have babies!

Rem, I am still pre-op but theyy say not to buy big containers of protein powder cause your taste buds change. I did order a container of unflavored unjury but unjury and syntax nectar you can order packets as well as bariatric choice to try after words to find what you like before you invest lots of money.

There is a post on here where the woman gave her man oral sex sex swallowed then dumped. Hhhmm something about the sugars in sperm.

Hi! I am wondering if anyone knows exactly what the insurance wants or doesn't want when writing the benefits of surgical weight loss letter. Suggestions welcome.
