I hope your surgery goes well and is completely uneventful. I'm really sorry this happened to you.

BCBS Fed Employees Program Denied Band Removal as "Not Medically Necessary"
Ivy Verde replied to abraxasbear's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'd fight back really hard on this. Maybe see another physician for a second opinion? The squeaky wheel and all that... if you're relentless, they might remit. I'd call and write to the point of annoyance, personally. As someone who had massive band complications, I would advise you to get the band OUT, however you have to go about it. It can get worse the longer the band is in your body. I wish you the best. I certainly hope you are able to get the band removed to avoid further injury. -
Esophageal erosion is a very bad thing. Are you healing well, I hope?

Anyone else have hiccups?

Your diaphragm is reacting either to the CO2 gas used during surgery or the cold of the beverages you're drinking, probably. -
Courtesy Goes a Looooong Way!

I had a few warning signs about my surgeon and I chose to disregard them. I regret that completely. I wish I had trusted my intuition and found a different surgeon. -
It sounds crazy, but flap your "wings" like you're doing the Chicken Dance. It will help disperse some of the gas. If the pain doesn't go away in a week or so, consult with your surgeon.

Governor Chris Christie gets the Lap-Band!

Sharon Osbourne had her band removed some time ago. She had some major complications with it. -
Just a word of caution: when I was experiencing severe complications from banding, the CT scan showed nothing wrong. Meanwhile, the band was causing a lot of damage. So don't rely on the CT scan alone. CT scans aren't the best diagnostic tools for band issues. But it's a good first step, anyway. I hope it's nothing serious.

Brussels Sprouts - Soft Foods?
Ivy Verde replied to jaxjen11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Brussels sprouts are probably too fibrous and might cause problems. -

I have been a member here for a while but it's usually not worth the trouble to post. I keep getting messages from Alex, asking me to share my story but I have no interest in sharing something so personal with a group of people who will add insult to injury. I've read enough to know this. Good luck to you all. I hope your experiences are better than mine was. -

If you want to believe I'm an "alias" that's your perogative but I don't actually know anyone here. -

People find out eventually. I don't really care to change minds. I gave up on that because people don't believe it until they go through it. The issue is that Ms Maui had every right to post without being insulted and attacked. -

I'd put my money on a world renowned surgeon, personally. Most people find out that what he says about the band is true. I know I found out the hard way. She posted in Band Complications forum and was attacked for it. It's wrong. -

It's ridiculous that none of these people have apologized to you. You posted helpful information on the correct forum and got wrongfully attacked for it. You are owed an apology. If people can't bother to read which forum it's posted in that's their problem not yours.
