  1. Happy 31st Birthday missbumbleebee!

  2. My band eroded and was removed in the beginning of June . I was 145 at the time of removal and my doctor said I am not a candidate for another band. I joined weight watchers to help keep the weight off. So far I've done well and everyday is a struggle but I try to remind myself that people have lost weight and kept it off without ever having the band and I've been lucky enough to have a "reset". I was devestated when I got my band removed but I have taken control. You have done and are doing great. Try not to fixate on the scale but rather the way you feel. Also remember that you don't need the band. I think we give the band so much power and lose sight of all that we can do. Focus on how you have changed you lifestyle and how healthy you have become. I think you band is fine but in the event anything is wrong with the band, have faith in yourself and everything will be great!
  3. I am having my band removed due to erosion but I am at my goal weight. My doctor is saying insurance probably won't pay for a new band. I was wondering if anyone has been able to get a new band through insurance without gaining all the weight back... I am scared to gain
  4. I have been banded for a year and a half and i was 13 lbs under my goal. Ramdonly lost all restriction a few months a ago and am now seven lbs under my goal. I remember the days when I just wanted to be 190 lbs (my weight at surgery was 252) and now being at 143 is the most depressing thing. I hate the way I look. I feel huge all the time and all I crave is getting down to 120. I know the fixation is insane and I know I should focus on being healthy and not thin but I can't help it. I guess I went from one extreme to another. I wonder if anyone else is feeling this way.

    Dilation maybe?

I have been banded for over a year and a half and I have exceed my goal. However recently I have lost all sense of restriction. I went in for another fill with no change but I have tons of air build up and am constantly burping. I feel constant pressure in the upper section of my stomach and I feel pressure aound the area where the band is. Any ideas what this may be? I have no insurance and my doc isn't really providing any information. Has anyone experienced this?:tt1:

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY

I am right there with you. I was banded March 31 and I am up to eleven cc's. I am hoping I will finally have good restriction. I was sitting in the doctor's office crying cause I couldn't understadn why I had no restriction. If this doesn't work, I'm going for an endoscopy....

See doctors who say things like that piss me off. I know 3 other people personally who were banded. Restriction has nothing to do with feeling full. It has to do with the ability to eat a certain amount. I had restriction for a week. I felt hungry but I couldn't eat. Its embarrassing to that so many people know that i had the surgery and I am losing weight so slow. I am just frustrated. I didn't go through the pain of surgery and the expense of paying for every fill out of pocket for no reason. If I knew it was going to be like this I wouldn't have bothered.

I am up to 10cc and still very little restriction!! I am starting to think there is a problem with the band or the position. My doc thinks everything is fine. I don't know what to do anymore

I was doing the exercise thing hardcore and was losing but once I stopped working out like that I stopped losing. It's just tough when othere people are losing left and right and I'm not moving. I'm really trying to eat healthier and up my protien. I go for another fill on the 27th. Hopefully that will help

    Sad and frustrated!!

I do it to see if I have restriction. Its my tester food. I don't eat them often. I know if I can eat a bagel I don't have sufficent restriction

    Sad and frustrated!!

I started at 256 and I am down to 218. I am happy for the weight I have loss but am dissappointed since I haven't lost anything in months. I have spoken to my dr. about this and he keeps filling me. I am just nervous cause the fills don't seem to decrease my ability to eat at all. At almost 9cc I can have a bagel and a bag of chips with no feeling of fullness. It's just hard when those around me who had the band are losing and looking amazing while I am failing

9cc's and still not completely filled

I completely understand your pain. I got banded on March 31. At first I was slightly restricted and was never hungry. After two months I lost all sense of restiction. I am up to 8.6 CCs and I am still able to eat EVERYTHING. My friends and family that have had the surgery are losing weight and having restriction. I am worried about failing this surgery. I keep talking to my doctor but he is of no help. I'm hoping to get a fill under fluro to see but i have to wait until I have insurance again  I understand your pain and hope you can reach your goals
  15. I was Banded on March 31 and my doctor used the VG 10 band. I worked out hardcore for the first three months and lost 40lbs. I keep going for fill after fill and I still have very little restriction. I have been around the same weight for 2 months. I am up to 8.6CCs. Is there something wrong with my band? I am really scared I'm failing at this and will never get to my goal. :help::cry
