    Pre Op diet woes

well take advantage of those green veggies....fill up on those....you can do some amazing stuff with broccoli and spinach. Ughhh I hate eating packaged meals they make me want to puke too. Then just thinking about how they are prepared and processed they can't be healthier than just making your own. I realize they want to limit your calorie intake during this time but perhaps offering an alternative recipe or menu option might be more practical. Keep it up though you'll be fine.

    Pre Op diet woes

Is it required that you use the packaged meals.....chicken and veggie broth is pretty good. Drinks lots of fluids....when I had to do the ketosis diet I freezed crystal light and ate it as a slushie to make me feel like I'm eating.

    pap smear question

I'm not sure where the doc got that from. I do know that so many women test positive for HPV because it is so easy to contract and it's possible that.....maybe women are more sexually active after wls and thats where he is noticing the increase. Who knows,.
  6. I know that I have to give up soda and anything carbonated....so I am taking my last few sips of my diet sierra mist as I am writing this. It's worth giving it up now....I know I had a love for this stuff as well as coffee. These two things are minor considering what I'm going to gain by getting the surgery.

    Scope

Is this the same as a endoscopy? If so that was a breeze.

    Body image

Well since you put it like that.....I'm donating. lol That must be interested to go from losing the weight to wanting to stop and that being difficult.

    Body image

I saw myself as "not that fat" for many years. I'm thinking from puberty I had this mind set and then over the years my weight has gradually increased and I still thought the same way. It wasn't until my recently that I have accepted the fact that I am morbidly obese and need to do something and fast. I dread taking full body pics. When you see my avatar I don't look that bad there right? lol. I met my husband online and only had a head shot on my profile and when he met me he admitted that he thought I was much smaller.....well surprise surprise lol. He still loves me and has been with me and supported through the weight gain and even the small successes that I have had with diet and working out. But like I said I finally accepted the fact that I'm obese and I'm not ashamed to take pictures...mainly because I know that I'm not going to look this way for long and I want to invite people to view my journey to encourage those who may come after me.

    Discouraged ...

Are you getting in all your required protein. My nutritionist said that if you are not getting all your protein in you don't lose weight as fast as you should.

    Mum's the word!

I understand not wanted to share this part of your life with everyone....it is very personal and some people are negative. I experienced that first hand....I'm generally very open about my weight and want to lose weight and this is my last resort and my family, friends, and close co-workers know about. I think it's important for them to know so that when I start eating all wierd they are not puzzled.

    My last sip of soda

I'm looking forward to feeling that way....because I can go for some right now.....I prepared for this though...I only have tea in my desk and no cash on me so the vending machines are a no no. Tonight I'm going grocery shopping and I am going to rack up on more crystal light or generic brand of different flavors.

    C25k

yayyyy keep it up with the c25k...I have that app too and I used it once but didn't really complete it as instructed because I was on my lunch break and didn't want to come back sweaty. I need to start on it for real though, I'm not going to get discouraged though....when I use it I will do like you...... master each day before moving forward. As far as being better than your "friend" just focus on being the best you can be. Everyone's results are different....you really shouldn't compare yourself to anyone else. If you want to compare....compare yourself to the old pookiebear and the new healthy pookiebear you are becoming....you will do great.

    I need to VENT!

Breathe.....I know married life gets complicated....shoot life in general is difficult...don't allow it to consume you. Focus on what you can control and sometimes people get aggravated for no reason....or maybe there are other underlining issues going on with people that they haven't revealed to you....but they resort to taking it out on you. Don't fret about it...do what you have to do and they will come around. As far as money problems go....they come....the go...and sometimes they stick around for a long time....don't drive yourself crazy. You will be fine.
  20. the moment when you are done with an intense workout and you realize that you are not out of breath or even tired....just sweaty....wooooo just loving it

Almost to the pre-op diet...My story

Thats great....congrats on your decision. I'm getting the rny as well. You will do well...just make sure you get lots of liquids you like, crystal light, flavored water, and maybe even sugar free jello if the nutritionist allows that. Do plenty to keep your mind off eating, read, write, work out, pamper yourself, blog, watch videos on youtube from others that have had rny or make your own vlog.
  23. I wish you well....you will be fine.

    Stage I : liquid diet- Pre-Op

Congrats on making it through the two wk liquid diet. you make sound so hard and I'm sure it is. However, I know it's worth it. I'm trying to increase my water intake now....so that it won't be so hard to switch over to liquids when it's my turn. Thanks for the tip on the Pepto.....don't want any surprises :-)
