I just started week 2 post op. I agree I am so tired of the protein shakes. I can't wait to week 3 When I can add cottage cheese and eggs But I can't argue with my weight loss so far. Pre op diet weight -293, today's weight -267.

Energy levels 3 months after sleeve
wheeling replied to AnnMarie1957's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 7 days out and feel very energized. Hungry but down 26 since the pre op diet. -
Well since last wed when I was sleeved I've been staying at family house in case I needed help. I have basically run out of protein and ice pops. So the last two days Ive had a small cup (about 1/2 cup ) of sugar free Italian ices. Are they really any different than the ice pops? I know the pops have fewer calories but I needed something. This is the first day since my surgery that I am hungry. Tomorrow I'm going home so I have my shakes and ice pops to have. I hope I didn't screw up

I been taking chewable gas x the last two days and it has helped. I was just wondering I only 4 days post op. Is gas x okay ? Or can it irritate the sleeve?
-

Well its 2days since the surgery. He Has.'t been great so far. Had a low grade fever yesterday but the nurse said not to worry it will pass. I came home today and even a sip of water hurts like hell. The liquid pain killers are awful, they haven't helped. Felt better the first night after surgery as the hospital was giving me the pain pump. I feel so crappy, hopefulty its just my body in some shock. Any answers would be greatly appreciated

I know I spelled it wrong , but it means that a viricose vein in the upper leg has a clot, not serious they say, but still I am hoping it won't stop my surgery some time in late June. Any else have this condition?
-
Yes you are right. DVT is what I have. They say it shouldn't interfere wih the surgery.

Starting the process
wheeling replied to lastone719's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all. My 2 cents. I am at end of six month procress and hopefully will get sleeved in June. I am saying sleeved but tossed and turned a long time because making this decision. Yes the band is a simpler surgery and reversable , but why do you want to something reversable? I know some people who had struggled with the band and others who loved it, but the real problem here is a lot of people end of converting to the sleeve later on because of the band slippage or scar tissue. Not trying to pour cold water on the banders, I really thought in the beginning that the band was for me, but after alot of research, the sleeve seemed like a better long term approach. But for you successful banders on here, I'm glad to see its working for u. Hey gov Chris Christie did the band recently, so we'll see how he does..good luck to all and wish me luck! -
Had to go get a sleep study at the hospital a couple of weeks ago. They said I have a mind case and want me to take another study for the mask. I refused. They won't clear me for surgery until I do so. But they gave me another option , they said I could get a oral attachment from a dentist and if they say it workable I assume they would clear me then. This is the final hurdle before the surgeon submittes my 6 month study for insurance app. Any one know about this oral attachment? And will it delay my progress?

My surgeon got on me the other day because he smelled a cigar I had. I am trying to get sleeved in late may or June pending insurance ap. I do not smoke cigs but I enjoy a cigar . So I bought a electronic cigar the other day Anyone know anything about these or the e-cigs ? Are they okay or not? I did some research on line but can't find if they are much safer than a real one.

Had to get an endoscopy today as part of the process to get the sleeve in June. Got some bad news today, they found a lot of gastric erosion caused by the aspirin I take daily. Have to take prioslec and see him in two weeks. Might have the beginning of an ulcer. Now the Big Question... Is this going to kill the sleeve surgery altogether? I have to see my surgeon on Friday. I have no idea what this means.
-
That what I have a duodenal erosion. Too much aspirin in my case. I'll see my surgeon Friday Hopefully this won't delays things

I know my surgeon told me that after I'm sleeved in June that carbonation is out. So no more jack and diet cokes. What about wine? Anyone know If wine or an occasional beer or a drink without coke is allowed? I not a big drinker, but no wine or coffee will be rough!
