  1. Hi, I was banded on June 6th, and I know what you mean about the hunger pains. I made sure I was getting in 75 grams of Protein with my shakes. I also started adding hot decaf tea , and beef or chicken broth, this helped me with the hunger pains. Hope this helps , and good luck !

    Finally banded

Congratulations !! You are on your way. I am day 7 post op , I also had the gas really bad , I used a heating pad on my left shoulder and back and it really helped and I also kept a ice pack on the stomach for the swelling.Just keep using , it should get better in about 3 days and don't forget to walk to move that gas out. The Gas -X chewables also helped me quite a bit. Good Luck !!!
  4. Day 6 after being banded , still on liquids only , but really wanting to eat something besides , broth, popsicle's and protein drink and jello, not really hungry just need a little more variety , any suggestions ?

  5. Question, I have been advised by my nutritionist and surgical coordinator that I do not need to do a pre-op diet except the day prior to only have clear liquids. It seems as if everyone is on a pre-op liquid diet. Am I the only one that surgeon doesn't require that? And if that's the case, I'm wondering why?

    Early june 2013 banders?

It seems as if everyone is on a pre-op liquid diet. Am I the only one that surgeon doesn't require that? And if that's the case, I'm wondering why? I started doing the shakes and broth anyway to try and get ready for the post-op and hope to shrink my appetite . I still wonder if anyone else was told this and why don't I need to have the pre-op diet ??
