    Regrets

100 percent. For me, I had got to the point that ANYTHING was better than being morbidly obese with lots of comorbities. I don't think I could've been any more miserable in life before I had the surgery. For those who do have regrets though, it'll pass. I see many many successful WLS patients who felt exactly the way you do in the beginning. Sometimes emotions may be due due to temporary biochemical changes.
  4. No hair loss with the sleeve. Post revision to RNY (for gerd), I experience quite a bit, about 6 months of it. Started late too like 5 months in. If you aren't meeting your protein requirement, just swap some of your junk food for something healthy with protein. If that is too difficult, then try to have a little protein with each meal to help fill you up. For example, if you eat chips, add a string cheese to that meal. I think a bariatric therapist may be able to help with the junkfood cravings if you have access to it. Since you are still in the honeymoon stage, that may help you for the future when the appetite comes roaring back.
  5. I tried Snakehead fish for the first time for dinner the other day. I just put the frozen fish in the air fryer with salt and pepper. I topped it with a vinegar black bean sauce before eating it. It was really good. It is not a snake but a fish. It has a very firm texture, not fishy at all. I read that if it wasn't for the name it would be more popular since it has a similar profile to tilapia. I can see that. The name is cringey to me lol. 75 calories for fish, 22 calories for sauce.
  6. I don't have the DS but I have the RNY but the nutritional requirements are as easy as taking daily vitamins. I wear a daily MV patch with iron and take an additional high ADEK chewable once a day. Takes one minute of my day. For your surgery, taking a multivitamin with iron, and 1500mg calcium citrate (some yummy chews available) should be easy too. Can bring them anywhere, take them anywhere.
  7. Each time I had an EKG. First time, I had to get on a bike and pedal forever. Second time, I had a chemical stress test and the third time, I had a nuclear stress test.
  8. I, too, go on phases with food. Sometimes it lasts for months and even years lol. I am on a natto (fermented beans) kick right now. I had it with nori (dried seasoned seaweed), 28g kimchi, and 11g sweet potato airpopped crackers. Total 158 calories, 6g fat, 15g carb, 9g protein.
  9. First of all, big props staying on your plan despite the cravings. Great job. Pre-op (the worst for me) and first 6 wks post-op diet is definitely challenging! At that stage I really liked string cheese, hummus with homemade cheese crisps, Greek yogurt with a high quality cocoa powder and other flavors like with blended fruit, chili... Etc. I hope you will find something that you will enjoy soon. Many on this site have much better ideas than myself for this stage. I'm sure they will share them.

    Plateau for too long

I'm short, not young nor do I formally workout but if I ate 800 calories a day I would be dropping serious weight and I weigh 107 +/- 5 lbs and my maintenance calories is about 1450 to 1550 cal/day. So like others, I really think you should talk to your bariatric team to discuss why you already entered maintenence with so little calories and have a dietician check your food log. 800 calories a day is already extreme, and I think going down to 400 calories a day would be even more harmful to your body long-term.
  11. Had vsg in my fifties, had vsg to rny revision recently (almost 2 yrs ago) in my 60s (gerd related). It's been great. Maintained 100+ weightloss over the years. My weightloss rate was on par with others much younger than myself. I had no complications, recovery was very easy for me. As far as long term success, after the honeymoon period, and hunger returns, long term weightloss requires some discipline in following your plan. But since you are already practicing good habits since 2015, you are ahead in the game, and I think you will be very successful.
  12. Rings (I wear silicone sizers too), clothes that fit, especially bras, and now I can't use my weight to push boxes lol.

    SO MANY QUESTIONS

I never once had acid reflux before my sleeve and I had to get revised for severe gerd. If you are already on omeprazole, then you are probably more likely than not to have to get a revision to rny in the future. I'm not a doctor so I can be wrong. RNY is an extremely safe procedure these days. I wish I didn't put it off as long as I did. My revision was the best thing I have ever done. It fixed all my problems from the sleeve and more. I'm in the minority who had vsg problems. Most do not. But since my revision, I have never felt so normal. Not normal WLS normal but before any surgery normal. There only thing I have to do is wear a Vitamin Patch every day and take 1 or 2 tsp of Miralax in my coffee. It's been wonderful. As far as mindset throughout the process, I always felt relieved, happy, lucky that I had WLS surgery. I would have done almost anything to get the weight off. Before WLS, I was miserable and sick due to the excess weight. It was only challenging when I had severe gerd and esophagitis but even then I was happy with my weight loss and always always always found it worth it.
  14. Beech nut naturals have no artificial ingredients and GMO free. Same with Gerber organics.
  15. It's great you have your pcp psychiatrist support. There are a few different type of RNY revision. What procedure are having? Did you stretch your pouch? The reason I'm asking is because my aunt regained all her weight back and more after 10 years post RNY. She had it evaluated and her pouch was still tiny and didn't stretch. She had learned to eat around it, and drank with her meals too, hence they didn't want to do a revision. They told her she would lose 10 to 15% max and it wouldn't be worth it especially since her health isn't very good. I am still going hoping she can get the help she needs because all her comorbities have come back. I have tried to help her go back to basics but unfortunately she can't stop snacking. She is seeing a doctor and psychiatrist to help her.

    Bypass vs Sleeve

I had a rny and I felt great after I slept the first day. I felt groggy day 1. The only side effect I had was a slight sore throat from the anesthesia tube. I think it really depends on the person too. Feel better soon, alert your doctor.

    traumatized by puréed

I never pureed any thing either. The thought does gross me out. I ate alot of Greek yogurt with unsweetened cocoa or with blended fruits, hummus with homemade cheese crisps, soft cheeses, cottage cheese with tajin seasoning (yum), tofu, nut butters, avocados... Etc

Nausea after eating- 3 weeks out

All what others said. Also, I wasn't allowed solid foods at all until 3 months, which is the usual timeline for starting solids. I had to stay in the pureed/soft stage until then. Anything solid would have probably made me sick, definitely would've given me foamies. Especially chicken. I was okay with soft fish. You are still very early on (not even a month in) so I think it's normal you are feeling nauseous with solids. I still have problems with chicken from time to time. Any meat that is dry can give me foamies (ick). I usually can not heat meat in the microwave because it dries it out so I heat my food in a food warmer like hotlogic and when I am hungry I just go get it.
  19. I hear you on not wanting t to gain weight. I deal with that issue from time to time myself. But unfortunately a skinny dead person is of no use, so please eat and take care of your body. Try to remember it's not an all or nothing type of deal, you can eat healthy things, even a lot of them and not gain weight. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables, getting your protein and water in will keep your body healthy so you can go out and do all kinds of fun things in life. As far as vomiting, if you are careful and chew really well, you should be far past that point now.
  20. No artificial sweeteners here for me in my coffee either. A few tasty alternatives that I use are dark cocoa, a little ghee, maple syrup or honey, alone or in different combinations with oatmeal milk or cashew milk.
  21. Oh, and here are the mini vegetable samosas (Monsoon). I had them with homemade cilantro chutney (basically cilantro bunch, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, pepper, salt) instead of the sweet chutney it came with. They were so good. 180 calories for 4.
  22. Yes, seems common. A month or so ago, I posted on a reply post about how I was concerned about my AST and ALT were on the high side, and some on this thread and others responded that they had experienced something similar. It eased my mind a lot and later, my levels came down some.
  23. Roasted eggplant 1/2c (18cal) wraps (50g lettuce = 8 cal) with homemade salsa (10 cal). Low calorie, but filling, dinner. I ate 4 mini samosas at lunch [emoji24] so I ran out of calories lol.
  24. Yeah, everybody is different. I was able to sleep in any position after both the vsg and rny revision. Although I have seen many posts talking about sleeping in a recliner. Not sure about the dry mouth problem... I experienced that before surgery but I have asthma and sleep with my mouth open often. I remember whenever I went on any strict diet, especially if there was fasting involved. I would get funky breath due to not eating but because I had to drink Water all the time after WLS, and I eat every 2 hours, I didn't have the dry mouth problem either.
