bout-time started following Finally here!, Higher Altitude & the band, Stuck at first bite! and and 7 others

Hi, I am preparing for a trip to the mountains (approx. 7,000 ft) next week. It just dawned on me that the higher altitude may have an effect on my band? Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

Maddysgram- Thank you, I'm hoping my dinner options are something soft and really moist.

Thanks Cheznoel, I will give that a try. I am a bit worried about having to leave the table as soon as dinner starts. Thanks for your reply.

I finally feel like I have the proper amount of restriction. My problem is, my first bite of a meal usually gets stuck for a few minutes. After a few minutes it passes or I will have a PB, then I can eat normally. I talked with my Doctor about it and he said it happens to some people. Has any of you had to deal with this? If so, do you have any tips? I have a 3 day meeting coming up and I am worried that I am going to dealing with this at my business dinners. Thanks

Hi, Thanks everyone for your sound responses. I went to the doctor this morning and he took out .25cc out of my band. Wow, what a difference. Although I'm not uncomfortable, I definitely feel restriction when I eat. Another lesson learned as a new bander Oh I forgot to add that during this little hiccup, I lost 6lbs/2 days. We 'll have to see what happens when I rehydrate. -

Phew! Thanks Missy, I didn't know it could happen so fast. Well at least I know I'm getting close. Thanks for your reply. -
Hi I was banded in February and have had a few fills so far, 5cc total in my 10cc band. Last month after my fill I felt a little restriction for a few day but eventually lost it. Yesterday I went for a fill and received .5 fill and now I can hardly keep down water. Could I become too restricted with this small fill after not feeling anything or is something else going on here? I called my Doctor and I'm going in tomorrow morning.

Hi I have been banded for one week today and have notices after I have my soup or shake my stomach makes some really loud growling, bubbling sounds for about 15 minutes after. Is this normal? and will it eventually go away or is this the way it's going to be?

Drinking coffee with my protein shake

I think I am one of the few who actually liked the taste of my pre-op shakes (not much I don't like the taste of lol ) but I do like the idea of adding instant coffee to the shake. Thanks -

Hi, This is probably a silly question but I'm confused, so here it is. I am in the full liquid stage of my post-op diet and for my mid-day meal I am having a protein shake. Can I drink coffee after my shake or is the shake considered like a "solid"?
