i can barely remember a time that I wasn't overweight. I also can't remember a time when my parents weren't fighting, or when everyone was happy. Luckily I have two brothers with whom I am close, a wonderful husband, three kids and a granddaughter.
But, weight. It has always been awful. I gained in elementary school and shopped in the Chubby girl section. Humiliation. I was chubby as a teen and shopped at Lane Bryant. UGH. I would lose weight--enough to wear a size 14 and then gain it back and more. My first stint with Weight Watches was when I was 14! My goal weight then was 140. I am 56 and I don't think I have been 140 since I was 10.
So, I am just sick of it. I have tried everything and follow diets and lose 20 pounds and then zip, gain it back. I thought that the lap band sounded just terrific. I went to a seminar in September and heard about the sleeve. I thought that was fantastic. So, I called the practice that gave the seminar and they NEVER called me back. I went on the Obesity Help website and asked about doctors and got a couple of calls from docs outside my immediate area. One of the callers was just so persistent and so nice. I made an appointment and after all the testing, the doc said I was not a great candidate for the sleeve, but I should have the bypass because of my hiatal hernia and some kind of a twist in my stomach. Feb, 28 is the first day of the rest of my life. I am really looking forward to having a tool that will help me lose weight. Really....Can't wait
