That is a tough one, since you can't have carbonation. I would suggest saltine crackers if you had any. They helped me when I was pregnant.

I was banded on 2/28 and I lost 20 lbs in the first 2 weeks. For the past week I have not lost another lb. Did anyone else have this problem? I know that the first 6 weeks are for healing, but I would have thought that I wouldn't have plateaued this soon. I haven't had a fill yet, that is coming up this Wednesday. I am just getting a little worried that I am going to be one of the ones the band doesn't work for. I log everything on MFP and am eating around 600-1000 calories a day, mostly around 700. I am making good food choices also. Anyone got any advice on how you got over the hump? Is it just that I need a fill? I am getting discouraged. Maybe I need to eat more protein. How much protein is everyone getting daily? Any advice would be great.

I am proud to report that the scales are moving down again after my first fill. I have lost 4 lbs in 4 days. Feels great to have went down a size in clothes too. My hubby and I just booked our 10 yr anniversary cruise and I have got to be bikini ready..lol -

March Challenge-Lucky to be Losing!

Good job everybody! -
Congrats on your success! I think I am more motivated than I have ever been in my life and it feels great to be succeeding. I never would have thought I could walk 3 miles a day, but I am and I love it. Can't wait to try other stuff that I couldn't do before. I love my band for helping me, but I know that I am the main contributor to losing the weight..because I want it that bad!

I need some advice...

Thanks for the info. I am getting about 70 grams protein a day and I am going to try for more. My dr wants me to only eat 900 calories a day, which seems kinda low to me. I figure as long as I don't go over 1000 I am good to go. I am getting more solids in now and that is going great after my first fill. No vomiting yet thank God. I really don't want to experience the PBing that you guys talk about. I know that eventually it will happen though. Thanks for all the advice, it is very much appreciated. -
How in the world can you get 64oz of water in?
kileybug34 replied to kileybug34's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
True..lol I like unsweet tea and that seems to go down better than the water. Guess I will just keep trying and not stress about it. -

I know I am not getting enough, because I have worked all day today and I have sipped all day and I have peed twice. I think it will get easier. I was filled 3cc yesterday for the first time, so I am sure that has made it harder. Thanks for all the comments! -
I got my first fill yesterday too. They put in 4 cc, but I couldn't get water down very well, so they took out 1 cc. I am liquids until this evening. They said just for 24 hours, I guess I will see how it goes.

I hear ya...I want it all gone now too.

I can honestly say that so far..I miss nothing. I am in stage 2 foods right now. I do not miss bread, chocolate, or sweets. I really thought I would. I believe that I have surprised myself in my willpower to do anything to get healthy. I feel awesome!

I was banded on 2/28/13 and I did lose 20 lbs the first 2 weeks, but I haven't lost any for a week. I think 13 lbs is great. I got my first fill yesterday. I did have restriction before and I wasn't hungry so that probably helped me. I exercise 5-6 days a week. I think when you are exercising that makes you start gaining muscle, but you may be dropping inches still. You are doing great and like someone said don't compare yourself to others. I have the same problem sometimes and that will make you discouraged. Slow and steady wins the race. Good Luck!

I am fairly new to the band, but I believe that if you put the effort into it, you will lose. I am determined to lose this weight and get healthy and for me that means giving up the things I love. When I went to my seminar they kind of downed the band too. My decision was based on I seen my father-in-law lose weight with the bypass and gain it all right back, I seen my friend who had the band and lost 50 lbs and didn't use her band as a tool and lose more, then I have another friend that follows the rules with the band and has lost 78 lbs in 6 months. I felt like the band was the best for me and I wasn't comfortable with losing half my stomach and having my intestines rerouted. I think the band is the best tool. This is just my opinion though..I love my band and it has been the hardest and best thing I have done for myself.

Ketone in my urine
kileybug34 replied to Mrs.LadyPrice's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ketones is the breakdown of fat passing through your urine. Only dangerous if you are an diabetic..which puts you into ketoacidosis. Completely normal otherwise. Hope this helps...hopefully you are just burning fat.which is great! -

I need some advice...
kileybug34 replied to kileybug34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I try to get more calories..but that is kinda impossible now. I can't seem to hold anymore than that. I did seem to get a little more in yesterday. I am going to try to get close to 1000 today. I feel full after a 1/2 cup of food right now. In the morning is definitely hard to get anything in. I try to drink my shake in the morning. This morning I got in some greek yogurt. To be honest with you I think some of my problem is that I have been constipated for about a week now...I know TMI..but finally got some relief so to speak. I have a hard time getting in 64 oz of h20 too. Anyone else have a hard time with constipation and getting your water in? -
Okay. That helps a lot. Thanks. I know that I shouldn't throw up. I would hate to slip.

Post op is making me feel lazy
kileybug34 replied to Frederic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is the difference between drs. Mine wanted me up and at it the day after surgery. I am almost 3 weeks out and walking 2-3 miles a day. I feel great doing it too. I hope you get to start soon. It sure helps you feel better. -
