How many meals a day???
kileybug34 replied to Pittsburgher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat when I am hungry. That is usually 3 meals a day and maybe 2 snacks, but I can only get in 900 calories. I am never really hungry anymore, so sometimes it is hard to get all the calories in. Hope this helps. -
March Challenge-Lucky to be Losing!
kileybug34 replied to lisaholland73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I missed my goal by 1 lb. I weighed in at 206...I am still pretty darn proud of myself. Great job guys! -
I am just hoping that my periods come back with weight loss...PCOS sucks! I lost about 20 lbs before I had Lap band and I did have a period on my own, so fingers crossed.

I was banded on 2/28 and had my first fill yesterday (3cc'). How can you get 64 oz's in? I can't seem to get, but half of that in a day and I know I need to get all of them. Any advice? I feel like I sip all day long already.

Cheesecake factory is awesome, but I want to be skinny more than I want that. Great job you two! -
Great advice! I always say I don't need easy, just possible. I think I heard it on a movie, not sure which one though. Have a good day!

Prejudice against fat people
kileybug34 replied to firefaerie266's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Definitely do this...this could save you time. I am so sorry that this person that calls herself a doctor treated you this way. People can be so demeaning. I am glad that you found a new doctor and I hope this one works out for you. Hang in there, it will be worth it! -
Excited ....Date night with hubby

Have a blast! We still do after being banded, I just eat off of him..lol So much cheaper! -
I have only been banded since 2/28, but I am no longer interested in food neither. I made Red velvet balls for a church function and I didn't even want one. That is amazing to me. Before I had a major sweet tooth, but now sweets do not appeal to me in the least. Neither does bread. I love the way the band has helped me get past it. I know that I have a long way to go, yet I am really not too worried about it. I know as long as I watch my portions and exercise 5-7 days a week, then I can do this. I can't wait to be able to post about my weight loss success too. Thanks for being inspirations!

I am 4 weeks post op today and I can only have fish, seafood, soft veggies, soft fruit, soft pasta, and crackers. I can have chicken at 6 weeks post op, along with beef and pork. Maybe it is just too soon to be eating chicken. Hope this helps.

Great posts! I too was an over eater and then I would feel guilty about it..glad my band has given me a new start in life. I can only eat around 900 calories a day and I now love exercising. I would imagine I was getting around 4000 calories before surgery. I love my band!

It could be that or you could just be gaining muscle weight.

I have had PCOS for 18 years. It is a dreadful thing to have. I have spent most of my life since then obese. I have had 4 miscarriages and I have one daughter that I conceived using fertility drugs and HCG trigger shots. I was banded on 2/28/13, hoping that it would help me have more children as well. I have since lost 20 lbs and I feel great. I have not starting having periods again on my own, but I am sure that it is going to happen when I drop some more weight. We are going to start trying again when I reach goal. I wish you luck and lots of baby dust!

How do you motivate yourself to exercise???
kileybug34 replied to sandiburn's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I walk 3 miles everyday. I do it, because I know that if I go back to my old ways I will not go any further in my weight loss and I want it so bad. I am more motivated than I have ever been. I recommend setting little goals and rewarding yourself with non-food items. When I exercise I try everyday to push myself harder and tell myself you can go further or walk faster. I feel great because of exercising..those endorphins are awesome. Best of luck! -
Crying and cant stop.. Day 4
kileybug34 replied to katiedee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know how you feel. I have always comforted myself with food and pretty much every family function had to do with food and lots of it. I have learned since 2/28/13 that I want to be healthy and look and feel good about myself more than I want the food. So, decided just the other day that I need to reward myself every time I lose 20 lbs and not with food, which the old me would have done...so I went out and bought a Coach purse that I have always wanted. Mind you this was a big step considering I am as cheap as they come and have never spent over $20 for a purse. I decided that I deserve this and I need to reward myself for making smart food choices. That might be a good idea for you..reward yourself with non-food items. It has helped me realize that everything is not about food. I wish you the best and trust me it does get better! I always tell people this is the hardest best decision I have ever made for myself. -
