Just to let you know my port IS right at my incision. So you sound kind of silly

Just under my skin I had a little bump. It happened to be a knot in a stitch. It eventually dissolved. If it not that it may be scar trusses like they said

It's my time of the month and I want to eat everything under the sun! How do you all deal with this?
-
I meet my husband when I was at my largest. He likes big girls but I'm now afraid he won't be attracted to me once I really start to lose weight. I've only been banded for a month today with 20lbs down. People are starting to notice at work!! It feels great. He on the other hand has said nothing about my weight loss. He doesn't even ask how much I've lost. He did for the first week that's it. I think I'm in between a rock and a hard place. I want to be thin and healthy BUT I want to be attractive to my husband. What are your thought on this and how should I deal with my mental challenge?

I'll tell you a little about me I need help
Meldom03 replied to kershe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a little confused you eat 5-6 times a day or every 5-6 hrs. Are you getting enough protein. Sometimes if you done eat enough protein you won't lose. My doc said 60g of protein a day. That's me eating every 2 hrs 4oz at a time so like from 7am-7pm but 30lbs is great keep up with what your doing. I also am at a standstill but I keep pushing through it because the rewards will be worth it in the end! Good Luck how it helps -
Pain at port site

I'm sore a little bit -
I work for an obgyn. There are to types of iud. One has hormones and stays in for 5 years and the other is hormone free. It actually has copper on it and that stays in for 10 years. Once the iud is in place and you've had it checked a week or 2 after insertion you should check the strings once a week. We tell all our patients that you have to feel comfortable touching yourself. The strings kind of like fishing line soften over time and curl around the cervix. If you check them once a week as before you shower there shouldn't be a problem. The odds are 1 out of a 1000 will have a problem. All the docs I work for love them. I hope that helps.

No protein! What to do?
Meldom03 replied to Karen85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try Boost. It's the best I've had. It taste like cho milk. Make with 2% milk it has 16g of protein. Give you complete nutrients. Keeps me full. Hope this helps -

Meldom03 replied to NurseKelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been on my stomach since day one also and the pressure also felt good for me to. I took my pain meds only at night just to make sure I could stay comfy -
How soon until you can swallow pills??
Meldom03 replied to NurseKelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Funny you brought that up. Im 10 days out. I think I have one big pill stuck? My capsules go down fine though. I've been taking them all along -
It's been 4 days since being banded and I feel great. Port soreness almost like I did to many sit ups. I've lost 7 lbs. I first thought maybe I made a mistake boy was I wrong. I am totally happy with my decision and if anybody is on the fence I say go for it! Congrats to all of you newly banded and I hope you are as happy as I am!!

Hey everybody I got banded Friday morning. Was on a liquid diet Thursday. That's the last time I've had a bowel movement. Is that ok considering I'm on Chx broth and protein shake diet? Is there anything I should do differently? I don't feel like I need to go either. What your thoughts?
-
I know you posted this awhile back. But I'm on it and my surgeon said it was fine to take it. My med dr also knows about the surgery and she saud it also fine with it. Before banding we ate dinner around 5:30-6:00 and I took my meds around 7:30 at night and was totally fine. I hope this helps.
