I am currently in a very similar situation. My doctor however wants to convert mine to the sleeve. He said he can do that all at once while removing the band. He just recently took my fluid out if my band. I can no longer feel like I'm in the green zone. It was either too tight and I was puking or I didn't feel like I had any restriction. I'm embarrassed and defeated. I started at 279 in 2013, got down to 189 and now I just creeping back up. I feel your pain. Ask about the sleeve instead of the bypass.. hope it works out for you.

This month will be 2 years I have been banded. I am in a constant struggle with my thyroid. For the past year I have just STOPPED LOSING. I am not gaining but I can't lose a pound. My doctor is frustrated... my endocrinologist has been trying everything. I am exercising. Only taking in about 1000 calories at the most. That's all I can eat and I burn on average 2100-2200 calories a day. I am frustrated...feel like a failure and am now depressed. I am at a loss for what my choices are.

I am not sure what is going on. I have not eaten anything unusual.. I feel like I did 100 sit ups and my stomach is hurting so bad. To touch and internally... sigh... has this ever happened to anyone?

All is functioning normal. My surgery was almost 2 yrs ago. I have never had this pain. Food and water is fine but I just have achy pain. Not a UTI.. directly in my band area. Calling dr. Today.

Thanks @pinkdahlia. I just was so motivated and doing the right thing and now with the same motivation and habits there is no result. It is just frustrating. It messes with your mind a bit.

54 pounds. I still have 54 more. I have not hit a happy number yet.

I am hearing some people say they had the band removed then went back for the sleeve. Someone else said their dr. Did it all in one surgery. Why do you need to wait after removing band? I'm confused...
-
Has anyone had the lapband removed and done the sleeve? I am a year and a half out from my band surgery. Only lost 65 lbs. My dr. And I have done many different options. My thyroid is so messed up and I am trying to get it regulated. He said perhaps we remove the band and go to the sleeve. I am confused and don't have anyone to talk to about it. Please help.
-
Thanks for the info. How did you do after the surgery? Did you lose quickly?

I got the 24 hour bug but it was pretty rough. Would I know if my band slipped from dry heaving so much. I am worried.
-
I agree with you. I wish I would not have told anyone. I too am losing very slow. My dr. Says exercise every day and that should help. I know I could do better with the exercise.

Sorry for the language but my biggest fear has become a reality. I have battled an underactive thyroid for the past 15 yrs. I had radiation done on a goiter and now I think that has ruined my metabolism. I am a year and a half out from my lap band surgery. I have only lost 61 pounds. My band dr. Is frustrated as well. I have done everything right. I really don't eat more than 1100 calories a day. I have been walking like crazy. And in two months I have lost 1 pound. I am so discouraged. I feel like a huge failure. I know people look at me and think...man she should be skinnier. THYROID DISEASE SUCKS. Unless you have battled it you can't understand. Please tell me someone else has this struggle. ????

@@lisaanewme67 I wish you success in your journey. I have been on a roller-coaster and just want to be better. I get my blood checked every 4-6 weeks and meds for thyroid change every time. I thought with getting the lap band and losing the weight it would help my levels. It has not. Just make sure you keep on top of your thyroid through this. Xoxo

Well my dr. Is as discouraged as I am and has mentioned me getting the sleeve and removing the band to get the 50 lbs off that I have left. That is great you have lost that since Feb. Congrats!

So my band is too full. It was fine when I had my fill but the past two days it's TOO tight... can't get into my dr. Trying to stay calm... any advice is helpful.

BeachBish after reading your post I thought I should have wrote it. I have the exact same issues. I am currently just trying to do protein drinks and water until my band decides to behave. Am I being borderline "disorderish" if I sort of want my band this tight right now? I have gone on a 3 month no weight loss and now it is this tight. I am trying the protein route and hoping this will give me some pounds lost. I wish you lived in Az. We could support eachother!! Xoxoxo -
I can drink liquids. Just not fast. So I am only drinking protein shakes and water.

What is wrong with my body? I am told I am not eating enough calories so I won't lose. Then I am told I am eating too many fat calories so I won't lose. I am stuck and I want to continue to drop. I have done the clean eating... watching carbs... watching sugars. I can't seem to find something that is working for my body. Discouraged is an understatement. I go for a fill Saturday. sorry to vent... just frustrated.

I am wondering what eating plan I need..

@@kyrickchick64 my surgery was October 2013. I have lost 74 pounds and gained some back. I have thyroid disease that is not cooperating. And I do use My Fitness Pal. My thyroid levels are changing monthly and I wonder if this is part of the issue. -
I have hit that ever so famous bad word..."plateau." I have been eating clean, no white carbs and working out 3 days a week. Not to mention the water I drink. It is hard not to get frustrated when you work your butt off, literally as my kids told me. I got on the scale and.... crickets were cherping. HELP!!!!!!
-
Your band won't have anything in it. Your body needs time to heal. I would continue your pre-surgery diet and make sure you are getting a lot of protein in. It was frustrating right after surgery. I was hungry and I didn't have restriction until my first fill. Be patient, allow the healing time and I promise it is worth the patience.

Clean eating/exercise no loss...

Using my fitness pal keeps me in check with my calories. I am always under what I should be eating. Perhaps that is the issue. -
Feeling defeated... I had an unfill due to a stomach bacteria. Prior to that I was in the green zone, steadily losing weight and almost out of the 200's. Now I can't get back in the zone and I am very frustrated. Three fills and I am hungry still after meals. I want to scream!!!!
-
A couple months back I had to get a complete unfill due to stomach bacteria and my one year EGD check. I was in the green zone losing steadily. Now it has been a battle ever since to get back in the green. Not losing weight... just frustrated. Thoughts??!!!
-
That's the frustrating part. I have had two fills since and still not back to where I was. I go for another fill this morning. Praying this is the one that makes a difference.
