No! It's totally normal. Almost all of us have been through the first stall at two or three weeks. It WILL break. Just hang on. The body is rebalancing. Depression is common at this stage as well.

Too Slow For My Taste

Thanks for the welcome! It is good to know that some surgeons are recommending ppis for band patients. Good luck to you too! -
Too Slow For My Taste
Fixerupper replied to carole6836's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi guys. I hope you don't mind a former bandster and current sleever chiming in here but we're all together now right? When I had my band I felt ravenously hungry all the time. In the process of my revision I learned a lot about acid reflux which I had when I had my band but it had not been diagnosed. I was out on a ppi (omeprazole) just before my revision. Even now with my sleeve if I don't take my ppi regularly I feel very hungry. I wonder now if I would have been more successful with my band had I just been been prescribed a ppi. Anyway, just hoping the info might help someone avoid the issue I had. -
80 pounds! Wow! You look great!

I'm Sick Of People Telling Me I'm Not Fat!

Here's the thing, you made a very offensive comment very publicly. If you didn't mean to be offensive it warrants a public apology for what you said not how we took it. People took it as it was presented. -

WTH? HIGHLY offensive! Do you actually have any African American friends? Seems that if you did you would know that we don't wear foundation to appear lighter! -

69 pounds. Six months. -
So this weekend my daughter had a huge sleepover. I haven't seen the mother of her bff in a couple of months because both girls switched schools. Anyway, this woman is pretty amazing. She has four kids -all under the age of ten, regularly runs 8 or 9 miles a day, and even does P90X. She is proabably about 5'10 or 5'11" and she looks great. Anyway, what does she say when she first sees me? "Oh my God, Look at you! You're almost skinnier than me I have to start running more!" We walked the girls to the park and all the way there she just kept saying "I have to start running more or you're going to be smaller than me!" I just looked at her and said "Don't worry. I am still in the overweight category and still have a ways to go." That wasn't enough for her. She wanted to know exactly how much I weigh and just kept asking over and over again. I never told her. Then she proceeded to tell me that she is going for her mommy makeover in 2 weeks (boobs and TT) but that she hasn't told anyone else because they will think she is crazy. I told her that it is not crazy, that she deserves it, and that I will be right behind her within a year if all goes well. But, I felt sorry for her in that moment. She looks great, she is in great health, is professionally accomplished, and takes care of four young children! It made me think about how hard we can all be on ourselves.

I'm wondering if with all of the changes going on with the app we might ask for something more than just one broad African American sleevers thread. I love the general conversation that goes on here but sometimes see if you have a specific question about hair, skin, or even have a modifier particular recipe it can be hard to weed through to get the answers you're looking for. I know the vets asked for some changes so it seems like this could be a good time to ask but I don't want to speak for everyone what do you guys think?

May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?
Fixerupper replied to mrsplusamericajacksonville's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks. I'm 5'7" and 173. Still wearing a 16 on bottom but I've lost my boobs. Guess I just have a big ole butt . I haven't been in a junior size since college. -

Same starting weight and basically stuck at same current weight. But you look much slimmer than I do. Mind if I ask what height you are and what size you're in? I just wonder if my mind is playing games with me? -
I just started drinking V8 Fusion Energy. Delicious, has vitamins, no fizz, and more caffeine than soda nut it comes from green tea. I love it. It's s perfect replacement.

Hi all. wondering if anyone has BCBS Michigan PPO and has had success getting coverage for plastics. Back when I started my wls journey in 2008 or so I think the only requirement was 100 pounds lost and maintained for six months. I called the insurance company today and they told me TT is covered at 80%. If I get them to cover I'll probably be out of pocket about $1,500.00 for the TT. The problem is that the insurance rep didn't really seem able to tell me what the current requirements for TT for WLS patients are. Panni is not covered at all, go figure. My boobs are also looking like a pair of gym socks and my thighs are hanging a bit so hoping I can do something there too. I'm almost at the 100 pound mark so I am just starting to look into this as a possibility in another year or so. Any advice is appreciated.

It was over five years ago for me. I think I was able to use it as a failed weight loss attempt but I think my six month had to be medically supervised.

People think I am sick!
Fixerupper replied to jmcguire55's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We are losing weight much faster than people normally do. I think it just doesn't occur to people that we've had wls so they're trying to figure it out. Not that we look sick.
