Changed my surgery date :(
Fixerupper replied to Deana Wright's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We sound similar. I'm 5'7" and 218 pounds. No one thinks I should do this. But I was 140 when I got married with a normal usual weight around 150. I don't have any comorbidities so even more difficult to justify. But I have lap band complications. I'm tired of not feeling like myself and I am looking forward to feeling like me again. -

Congrats. I'm a band to bypass revision scheduled for March 21. It's nice to see you are doing well. I have the same issues with photos and look forward to lots more family photos with me actually in them. -

is it different for lesbians?
Fixerupper replied to Veritas02138's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm not a lesbian but have the same thoughts about being African American. Curves are appreciated. I worry I will get slot of negative feedback if I end up stick thin. -
Anypne out there in this group?
Fixerupper replied to Olivereindeer's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I decided on rny because I have bad reflux from band damage and that's a problem with the sleeve. I'm scheduled for March 21. Don't forget to check out the band to bypass forums. -
Where is everyone from?
Fixerupper replied to AmandaD's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi. I'm in Detroit. Having surgery at Beaumont Royal Oak. What part of Michigan are you in.? -
What made you chose RNY rather than sleeve?
Fixerupper replied to Olivereindeer's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm a band to bypass revision as well scheduled for March 21. I felt like restriction only hasn't worked for me. I've taken off 70 pounds and kept off 50 in five years. Plus, I have bad reflux from my band issues and the sleeve makes that worse. One thing that had been nice is having my band completely unfilled for the last month to see what my eating habits really are. I gained five pounds because I had been so long without bring able to eat real food. Now I've been low carbing and upping protein in prep for surgery and the five pounds came right off. -
I had a somewhat similar situation. I was so frustrated by having to do the six month diet before my band because I knew that I would lose weight and the loss of even a couple of pounds would have dropped my bmi too low for surgery approval. My family doctor helped me develop a healthy eating plan but we worked together to avoid my losing weight. I had been yo-yoing for years and we both knew that was bad for me and that surgery was needed to maintain weight loss.

Mine is scheduled for same day on March 21. I really hope they don't find too much damage and can get it done. -

That's good about Kaiser. You are not alone in being afraid. I think most everyone had fear and excitement at the same time. It has to be your choice.
