I don't know guy's...I need Help.
Fixerupper replied to HalloweenBaby24's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If your surgeon is one of the busiest in your area then it could just logically make sense that he had more negative reviews. Is It possible that he just has more reviews in general? Also remember that people take more time to post negative reviews than positive ones. -
Happy Birthday, BariatricPal!
Fixerupper replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thank you, Alex. This site is an invaluable resource, and so much more. -
Campbell's has a number of low fat cream soups. Cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, etc. Just put them through a strainer before eating.

When I was really struggling I called my surgeon and he worked with me on progressing through the stages. I would not do it without professional guidance.

I think I maybe having regrets
Fixerupper replied to mrsbethea3's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
We can also get strictures. A stricture will make it hard to get things down and make you throw up. It can be fixed and generally just with a scope. Talk to your surgeon. -
Sleeve and gall bladder problems
Fixerupper replied to quuquui's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had issues before the sleeve so I had it removed at the same time. Overweight women are also just more likely to have gallbladder issues according to several docs i have talked to. -
Surgery tomorrow. Very scared
Fixerupper replied to SliminDownThick's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm so sorry for your loss. I think most of us were scared but i can especially see why you would be. I was very scared as well. I just had to hold onto the belief that I was giving my children the gift of a full, rich, active life with me. -
Had my band removed and sleeved all at once and it worked out very well. I chickened out too and did not need another scope. Surpassed docs goal in less than a year after failing miserably with the band. You've got this!
-
Hi Mary. I just wanted to reply. I had my band for five years and lost 28 pounds. I was sleeved just over a year ago at 240 pounds. I hit my surgeons goal of 170-177 in about nine months. I have surpassed that now and i am bouncing between 148 and 150. I am a normal BMI and I am still losing when i stay committed to eating right and moving. I think the friends I made here and recognizing what i did to fail with the band have been key. Some of the failure was the band's fault, but I take some responsibility too. I have found that for me this time i had to be accountable to myself and my support system. I have a couple of other revision friends here who are wildly successful. I think I did lose a little bit slower but I was prepared for that. My personal goal is 140 becsuse i really like my bify at that weight. Really in the end does it matter if it takes us 18 months to reach our goal while others get there is ten? Working at it and getting there is what matters. I'm confident you will do that.

Almost six months out, weight loss has stopped!
Fixerupper replied to dandeegan's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I got a stall at six months for almost two months. Then it broke quite inexplicably, I did a little more walking that week, weight pounds just suddenly dropped off. I find that it is slower after six months but not over if we stay on program. -
Hi my fellow sleevers. I don't post here often enough anymore but I get so much support and motivation here. I'm hoping this will give encouragement to someone who needs it. I was sleeved in May 2013. I have spent the last almost three months in a stall and bouncing up and down. Although I felt like giving up I didn't. I stuck with the program. Suddenly in the last ten days, eight pounds fell off putting me at a normal bmi. I have to admit I had started to believe this wouldn't happen. My doc set my goal at 170-177 (still overweight) so when I stalled for so long at about 166 I thought, well I guess that's it. I wasn't done and I'm still not done. I'm now 158 and sky's the limit! My weight loss has gone mostly like this. Long stalls with chunks of loss here and there. I was 240 the day I was sleeved and my highest weight was 268. Good luck to everyone.

It is generally acceptable to say person of color or persons/people of color when referring to brown or tan people of different races at the same time. Your original post sounds like your heart is probably in the right place it was just a strange choice of words.

Gurgling Noise in Stomach 3 Days Post Op
Fixerupper replied to Andrew0929's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have also learned that burping for me is related to not taking my ppi as often as I should. The reflux/GERD makes me burp. -

Surgery yesterday - scared
Fixerupper replied to Stacy_wls's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I actually had to have another surgery the second day to look for a leak. They needed to open me up. No leak was found but there was fluid so they put in a drain which was fine. I heaved and threw up all night the first night but by day three felt so much better. Praying that you have a speedy recovery and start feeling better soon. Please keep us posted. -

May sleevers results so far!
Fixerupper replied to lexi6510's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have been stalled and bouncing up and down with the same two pounds for two months now. This time of the year is a killer for me because depression sets in so I crave bad carbs and exercise becomes more difficult with all of the dark hours. For me it has been fairly easy until now. New I need to work for it. -

Thank you. trust me, I have been through a lot of stalls! They happen. Especially I think for us ladies. My cycle causes a 2 pound gain every single month! I'm used to it now. You'll get used to it too and will learn to trust your body but it does take time
