MichelleStevens replied to DMH82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc says it's about a year and a half average weight loss. He said if u lose too much weight u will b put on a high calorie diet. My husband was so concerned about how much weight I'm gonna lose. I'm down to 155 at 5' 10". Smallest I've ever been. I love it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Really Regretting it.
MichelleStevens replied to SweetStarlight's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a lot of regrets for 2 weeks after surgery. I am so glad I had it done. I was a revision from the lapband. I'm down 45 pounds from March and am so happy. People tell me all the time not to lose anymore weight that I'm too skinny now. I love it. For the first time in my life I'm happy with the results. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Band to Sleeve revision due to bad complications, nervous/excited
MichelleStevens replied to kgarrettsatx's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I was told by the PA that I probably wouldn't get approved because my BMI was only 30, but she called and said that a representative from AETNA called and asked a bunch of questions on my problems I was having and he send the approval through. I about fell off my chair when she told me. haha. Yes they did both surgeries in one. I will tell you the incision where they pull the stomach out after it is cut, took over 3 weeks to stop hurting. It was definitely different then the band, but I have no regrets. I am so happy now. -
Band to Sleeve revision due to bad complications, nervous/excited
MichelleStevens replied to kgarrettsatx's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had same issues with my band. I had it 3 years and had 1 cc put in it, and threw up for 6 months until they took the fluid back out. I still preceded to vomit. I went to a new doctor and I got approved through Aetna to have the band removed and revision to sleeve, that was in March 2016. My first appt I was 200 lbs, I am now 164. I am so grateful I had the surgery. Best decision I have ever made. No problems with any foods. I even had steak 2 weeks ago with no problems. I will tell you, that you cant eat a lot of food. It is way different than the band, but in a very good way. Good luck with your appointment. I hope you get approved. -

I have absolutely no energy!
MichelleStevens replied to Renee1973's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here. I kept apologizing to my husband, he would come home from work and I hadnt done anything but lay on the couch. It is totally normal to be so tired. Especially on a liquid diet. -

I had the lapband for 3 years then on the 9th of March I had revision to sleeve. Altogether I lost 61. It's not showing that it's been 3 years. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

lbs lost the first month from band to sleeve
MichelleStevens replied to Gurl4god's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ive been on nexium for years now, so my surgeon didnt think that I would have any problems getting the sleeve, but my reflux was controlled. This morning I was cleaning the house and I guess from bending over several times did something, because I cant get rid of the reflux. I took another nexium and a zantac and it still is coming up to my throat. -

rhya2k, good luck on Wednesday. It's definitely different than the band. I was really nervous when I started eating this past week. It's so nice not to have everything stick in the band. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
lbs lost the first month from band to sleeve
MichelleStevens replied to Gurl4god's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my band removed and revision to sleeve on 3/9/2016. I lost 66 lbs with the band, then started being able to eat a little more than I should so I had 1 cc of Fluid put in my band. After 6 months of throwing most of my meals up. I made an appt to have the fluid removed. After that the vomiting continued and I wasnt even able to get applesauce through the band. I had good days and bad days. When the doctor took my band out he said that it was into my liver and my esophagus was a little elevated, that is probable the reason why I was having such a hard time eating. I went into surgery at 194 and am now 184. Having that band removed was the best thing I have ever done. The only thing that makes me nervous is learning how to eat with something new again. I think it helps that we are already in the wls mode. I dont drink soda, I dont drink 30 minutes before and after my meals, so dont have to get used to that. haha. -

I just had my band removed on Wednesday 3/9/16 and revision to the sleeve. Tonight I took my chewable Vitamins which immediately made me dry heave and now I'm having acid reflux that won't go away. I took 2 nexium and pepto to get rid of it, still no relief. Up until today I haven't had any issues with reflux. Has anyone had this problem before. Should I be concerned. I'm actually on nexium daily which I never have reflux because I take it daily, up until last night. All I know that the dry heaving last night was the worst pain. I can't even cough because it hurts so bad. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thanks for your help. I slept in the chair last night and the reflux went away. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Not happy with it at all. I have 1 cc of fluid in my band and am having trouble eating yogurt and tons of different foods. Went to have fluid taken out and the doc tried to put more fluid in. I hate the band. I wish I would of gotten bypass but I was to chicken to do it.

I've had my band for over two years now. I had two fills early this year, first ones I've had since having the band put in. I have a total of 1cc of Fluid in my band. Lately I've been having trouble in the morning with my greek yogurt. I can eat my oatmeal and not have any problem, but if I try to eat my yogurt first I get that stuck feeling. It feels like my stomach shrinks over night. I've not been able to eat certain kinds of beef. Steak and roast are off my menu now. I had to switch to dark meat chicken, because chicken breast gets stuck. I've got to the point where I'm terrified to eat anymore. I never know whats gonna go down or get stuck. Do you think that my band might be to full.

Thank you for the information. I have an appt on the 12th. I will talk to the doctore and see what he thinks. It was just troubling me in the morning mostly. I think sometimes my problem is I am hungry and I dont chew the first bites completely. I was so used to not having to chew my food to liquid form for 2 years and then I went and had 2 fills and now I am terrified to eat half the time.

question about protein & working out
MichelleStevens replied to Keeper's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My PA I saw in the past said if you are exercising that you need 80-100 grams of protein. -
Got my first fill, .5 cc today after almost 2 years having the band. I wasnt really educated on the fills. The new doctor I went to today wasnt really interested in talking after he put my fill in. I know Im supposed to have two days liquids and 2 days soft before returning back to normal, but can I take my pills or do I have to dilute them in water.

First fill today. Help needed.
MichelleStevens replied to MichelleStevens's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Ive always been able to chug a glass of water. Ive seen 2 doctors and neither one have discussed the fills with me. I switched doctors and the new one put my fill in and was gone out of the room in under 10 seconds. I really dont like the new doctor at all. -

Another question is, how often do you get fills and when do you know you need one
