.. has anyone else had this happen? If so, what was the solution?

Hi, I was banded 1/25 and I've lost 53 pounds since my surgery date.... I am so insecure with myself and this is something I'm not used to feeling and I have no clue how to handle it. I recently met a guy and after talking he told me the reason he wouldn't date me is because "I don't take care of myself enough". Normally, I would have just brushed someone telling me I'm over weight off.... But now, I feel like all of this is a waste of time and I just want to be myself again..... Has anyone else had these issues? How did you handle them?

They told me mine tilted about 3 months ago, but two weeks ago when going for an adjustment, I took him 4 tries to get the needle in, so its deffenitly moved more.

ask friends! or, do what I did. post on here, see if there is anyone in your area and become friends!! She has gotten all of my old clothes! But ross is good, sometimes craigslist, clearance racks at the stores ect. I was losing sizes so fast at first, I was changing pant sizes like every other week. Day of surgery (end of Jan. this year) I was a 24/26 and now i'm a 12/14 Just buy a little at a time!

has anyone tried the "tea" or "juice" flavors that mix with Water? I'm kind of interested, but super nervous and they don't have a small sample size for me to try, I have to go big or go home hahah

I would suggest having a sit down with her and seriously talking about it.... I didn't share with my family or friends that I was having this done, for that reason. But now my best friend of 6 years wont talk to me because I've lost weight. I don't want this to happen to anyone else, this journey is hard enough, period, let alone with the people you need the most making it harder on you.

I just saw the sample pack, but i'm a dumb dumb and wait until the last minute to go buy more, so I can't wait for shipping lol. I use the Strawberry Mouse one now, and I enjoy it blended with nonfat and ice... but since summer is coming, I think i'll start stearing away from milk products, but I still need my protein

it slipped my mind to do so! I just had someone go thru my facebook that didn't know me before I was banded and promised I wouldn't be mad if they found me "at my fattest" picture. lol

As of yesterday, i'm officially down 60 pounds since my surgery date of Jan 25, 13. Today I celebrated by running my first 5k. I never thought in a million years i'd be in a 5k, voluntarily, let alone JOGGING it. WLS surgery has been the hardest thing I've ever done in my life, but little moments like this remind me of why I did it. I attached a photo of a very happy me at the finish line.

It's by no means an easy out to weight lose. I've probably worked harded with this than any fad diet or program before. You really have to learn about YOURBODY and what works for YOU and the band. Think of your band as a marriage. It's no longer just you, you need to consult your other half before making desicions. For me the hardest park of my journey has been the excepting myself for who I am. Weightloss is hard when you've been over weight your whole life. I have to look at myself and remind myself that I'm not who I used to be anymore, and learn to love/embrace the new me.

ahh yes, the first time I sat on the floor and was able to sit "indian" style. haven't done that since I was a kid! haha

I have one due to severe allergies, so i'm getting one re-made now that i'm post op just to add it in there.

I took nine days off of work for mine, but wish I wouldn't have.. I was going crazy. The day after surgery I went shopping at the grocery store, day 3 I went to target for like 2 hours just to walk, infact I think I went shopping every single day I was home hahha... my bank account hated me. The only reason I am happy I took that much time off is the fact of the food temptation after about a week. I think I would have ended up eating if I went back to work any sooner. goodluck! you'll be fine. Also! I didn't take any pain meds once I was home. Super easy!

Did any of you go thru 1800 get thin for your surgery?

I have no idea. All the medical expensses including follow up care have all been paid for already. I need to call my insurance and see what they say.

part of me wishes i would have seen those articles earlier... apperently my surgen is the one who killed the lady in the OR room. fantastic. hahah

yeah, my mom and little brother asked me to lunch today. my little brother doesn't know, but my mom does and was trying to force me to finish my food after i was full. I also ordered steamed veggies that didn't go over well, so I didnt eat and she kept pushing it.. so annoying!
