    my story

    AWESOME!!!!
  3. No I don't get headaches from salty or fried foods. The salty and fried foods are for your blood pressure. I am going to see my kidney doc on March 18 and I will consult with him about he Protein.
  4. I too have IGA nephropathy and wondering about the protein intake. My nutritionist wants me to put in at least 80g of protein. I am going to ask my nephrologist about this next time I see him if that is ok and what is his take on how much protein I should be taking per day. Did your nephrologist told you how much protein can you have per day?

    Questions

It depends on the surgeon. The reason for the pre op diet is to decrease the fat on your liver. My surgeon only ask me to be on liquid diet for one day before the surgery.

    Lapband Flipped

Why does a port flip? Is this something we do or is it something normal with the band?
  8. I think that is what I have. I need to ask my surgeon specifics on my band next time I see him.
  9. I am so jealous. You are on solids and I was banded before you, banded 1/24/13 LOL. I am still on pureed this week then soft food next.
  10. When you say liquids for 24 hours after the fill, is it clear liquids or full liquids? My first fill will be on the 7th of March.
  11. Have you done the procedure yet? What did you decide on having and how was it?
  12. Lost 24 lbs in 3 weeks
  13. Hang in there. I was banded just a several weeks before you. The first week or two is hard but stick to the plan just like what Chez said and it will get better.

    Thinking about Lap Band surgery

My surgery was at 11 AM and I was discharge at 1:30 PM. I took 2 weeks off because I do heavy lifting as part of my job.

    Lap band and thyroid

I am also hypothryroid and taking 200mcg of levoxyl. I have lost 22 lbs in 3 weeks (banded 1/24/13). If my weight loss is going to be slow, I am down with that. That means my skin will have time to catch up so I won't have with too much saggy skin afterwards.

    January 2013 Bandsters Unite

I think that's why bandster weigh their food. Try keeping it at 4 oz. I have been keeping the less than a cup per meal. My nutritionist told me that if I have to take a deep breath during meals that means I am full and push the food away.
