I agree Mis73 , I am a self pay in Canada ,I am not required to do any seminars or info sessions other then an online one ( online as my Doctor is on the other side of the country) it does not mean I have not been researching and reading the information books provided to me but some of the posts I read its like people just run out and get banded thinking its a cure all and do some major damage because they have not informed themselves
-
How exciting ! have a speedy recovery and congratulations!
-
IMHO , people are looking for a "quick" fix and the sleeve and bypass may represent this to them, rapid weight loss no maintenance ect, I think the doctors push those surgeries as well as it requires nothing more of them after surgery , to each their own and its a VERY personal choice ,but for me the band is the only option
-
Thank you , I think I will get some and start early ,my poor hair already has issues
-
Where do you all get the biotin ? Is it chewable?
-
I guess it depends on the doctor my doctor says zero carbonation so that's what I will do, as I am seeing in the boards all the doctors seems to have their own protocol .
-
From what I have been told carbonation can also cause the upper pouch to dilate

I am a diet Pepsi junky , it's better then it used to be but I am now only two months away from surgery and this is my last case I will be drinking , I've done it before bit this time it's goodbye so sad , lol wish me luck!
-
That's the reason I am going off now , I am to fearful of doing anything to damage myself or the band , I'm 61 days from surgery and want to be diet Pepsi free long before I have to be
-
Funny thing is I was off of the pop for a long time drinking a ton of water working out like crazy dropped 40 pounds then got bronchitis stopped going to the gym and never restarted stopped the water an back on the diet Pepsi ugh , I can not weight to be banded , I know how to eat an take weight off , I've done it a million times lol I just need help. Hopefully the band will help
-
No problem , I hope it helps thinning hair is no fun , my hair falls out from stress so I know how awful it can be
-
Yes stuff like that, I can't imagine it would change the texture , one way to find out I guess, I'm not banded yet but getting worried about the hair issues people seem to have

Could you maybe add unflavoured protein powder to some things you already eat ?

michpell39 replied to TamArellano83's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Lol , I have seen a runner underestimate how fast he could run and flew off the treadmill ,so it happens to the best of us,I'm never embarrassed at the gym , everyone is there for the same reason ans as I have learned people who are really passionate about fitness never judge -

Got a Gym membership! But now what?
michpell39 replied to TamArellano83's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I started walking on the treadmill then the stepper , the trainers at the gym will give you a low down on how to use the weights and if the free weights scare you start on the circuit weights they are easier to figure out, go to a fitness class they are great and a good trainer will always show you different moves for your fitness level and most important HAVE FUN , yes they gym can be a fun place to be -
I think its more of a lack of parental supervision, my son goes with me (hes 14) and uses the gym as it should be used but I see a lot of parents just drop the kids off and do their own thing , I have also seen parents bring their young kids throw them in the play area and go work out which is not cool.

6 years after band thinking of adding Plication
michpell39 replied to ccattorney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It worries me that your Doctor dismissed the idea of a potential problem with band placement without any investigation , I would see if there are issues with the band first before you get a plication done , if all is well then plication might give you what you need IMHO
