I had a hard time at first accepting my band. But as of now I feel great. Like I didnt even ahve surgery. Heres the thing though. I can eat whatever I want....and portion size is bigger than should be. I had my first fill one week ago...and I can eat 'normal'. I dont want to wait until the end of the month to get another fill. I want that 'full' feeling and I sure as hell dont get that now. I was banded on Sept 22 and have lost 11 lbs. I did lose 20 but once I was able to eat more ..I did and gained back 9. I also wonder if I should go back on my Metformin for my PCOS. They had me go off of it two weeks before surgery. Soooooo guess IM going to call the doc tomorrow and see about gettin another fill or if Im even allowed..and goin back on Met.

Have my first fill on October 27. I had lost 20lbs and now have gained back 5 of it. Doc said it is normal. BUT Im also eating more 'normal' foods. I know I shouldnt....But I have been. Its like Ive never had the surgery. I cant eat near as much but its still like nothing ever happened. Im praying that first fill will get me goin again. My goal is to lose 20lbs by Christmas. I hope I make it!!!!!

Wanting my band out :(

When I met with the Pysh....I told him mom was sick. But we all thought she would get a transplant and be fine. She died unexpectdly from a brain anerysm we think. That was July 7th. Then I got my approval the very end of August I believe. Today has been better. I am for sure calling my docs office and insurance about counseling. I forogt to say also...I quit smoking 36 days ago and have done great. I dont miss it. I think I used food more of a crutch then...and then having surgery..it was a double whammy. You all are really great and thankyou for such the postive support. I had mashed potatoes and gravy for the first time today and it was nice eating that. I could have had that 4 days ago but I didnt...I just happend to be at Krogers and they had a hot side set up so i got about a 1/4 c. I only ate 1 oz of it. IT was good...then I found some low fat cheese.(I used to be a HUGE cheese person). It was in a skinny stick which was .95 oz...I ate half of that....it was filling. So Im starting to do better. Again..you all are amazing and sweet to support me like this. -
Wanting my band out :(

Sorry girls I havent checked in..Ive been tryign to keep myself busy.. Speck..yeah I'll tell ya. I researched Lapband for one year. Then this past Febuary I decided I wanted it done. BUt for my insurance to pay I had to do a six month supervised diet. Which I did.....Ended up a total of 7 months for my approval...then a tad bit longer to schedule. So I ahve to say I was VERY informed....and it wasnt a rash decision. So far my depression has got better. Since July my mom passed away....my dad decided he is moving in with us and this surgery.....soooooooooo I think its ALL of that AND getting the band..which makes it such a hard hit with my emotions... So tomorrow Im calling my Lapband doc...and my insurance and see what I can do about some counceling. I cant remember who advised it..but I think IM goin to give it 6mths or so and if I still feel like I want my band out..then I will do it. I still feel werid having this in me. Its like I can feel it. lol I appreciate all of you being so nice and helpful...makes me feel so not alone. -
I am in deep depression. The first few days were fine... But for the past two days I want this thing out of me. I know I sound crazy. But something tells me now its not for me. I know this sounds crazy. But is there anyone out there who has thougth this? :bolt:

3 days post-op: my experience
Iatetheskinnyme replied to Cleo's Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine done on the 22nd. Im achy at the port site. My biggest thing is shoulder/back pain. Gas X and aleve has really helped me. As of now Im goin through the mental part. Was this the right decision..blah blah blah. I have to say I have stayed FULL. I have to make myself eat when its time. My scale is all screwy. Depends where at on the floor I weigh...but I started out at 317...today it read....lowest...300.1.....Or....303.9. LOL So a range from there. -
Any September Banders?
Iatetheskinnyme replied to Keleka's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
SCraig-I take aleve and Gas X and it has helped alot with the pain. -
I am three days out and am havign to make myself eat. I get SO full on 1 oz.... For instance I had 1oz cream of wheat this mornign and was stuffed. then I sipped my water... Then ahd a sugar free popsicle..which I only had half.. Then...for lunch.. I had 1oz chicken puree baby food with maybe 1oz baby carrots mixed with it. I probably only ate half of it..meaning 1 oz. Then I sipped my Water after 30 minutes of eating. Then for dinner I guess..I had 1oz of puree cottage cheese and puree pears. ....I probably only ate 1 oz of that. Again very full. So now Im sipping Propel and still feel FULL. Is this normal? Is it normal to have to make myself eat? I just feel like IM doin something wrong. I do feel like I have to belch some..kinda like indegestion..but then I dont. ITs werid. Dh has eating Arby, McDonalds and Skyline in front of me and it actually made me sick to the stomach. lol I jsut wonder if Im getting enough though.

Why Don't We Give A Little Update Where We're At
Iatetheskinnyme replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Had surgery on Monday. I feel like crap. I had a hard time coming out of anithesia(mispelled). I ended up staying 5 hours after surgery. Got very light headed. Came home and slept mostly. Got my clear liquids down....sometimes 1oz was too much. Today Im hurting on my belly. The port incision has a bigger bandage and not sure if its still bleeding but it was at the hospital. Its actually hard to bend over. 2 oz is hard to eat..very hard. So I dont push. I just feel FULL. So werid but I do. Im very suprised how weak and achy I am. I thought I was wonderwoman and usually have a high pain tolerance. My book says I can take Aleve along with my pain meds...which Ive been faithly taking. Then says I can take GasX. Getting ready to try that here soon. Wondered how all you were doin post op? I thought Id come out feel greeeeeeeeeeeat. lol I feel so tight right where you would give the hemilich manuver. That must be the band. -
Awww shucks! How sweet! I am a nervous wreck! Ive never had surgery before. Im scared Im goin to wake up and the doc will be like.."You DID NOT stick to the Medifast diet you hog....this was all for nothing suuuueie". But Im hopin for the best! I got down to my skivveys tonight and dh take pics of me...whew it was NOT a pretty sight!
