I had a fill a week ago. Mostly Eating soft foods and started on solids too. Last night, I ate too fast , I"m sure and I was stuck, it took time but i finally threw up some food. After I threw up, I felt cool air going thru the band. It felt so cool. The full day today I was on liquids only. This evening I tried one small bite of soft fish and I feel stuck again. Not stuck like last night, but stuck. Don't know what I should do. Did my band slip? I really know that I need to eat slowly and chew lots. I know it is a learning curve but at the same time I am nervous if something is gone wrong with the band already. Before or after the fill, I find that the first two bites feel stuck as they go down, then it is okay. Is that normal. Should I be concerned? Thanks

I am a food addict and I feel helpless. Today I am 4 weeks post op. I have started on regular soft foods as I am really very hungry. I have dropped 25 lbs since preop but nothing for 2 weeks. During the day I am busy at work and have no time to eat , even thought I have my protein shake for breakfast and tuna with mayo for lunch but come dinner time, I eat a good two to three cups of food at once and then feel satisfied. I don't feel the port or my band. Feels just like I was pre banded. Is this normal? Sometimes I don't know how some people can loose so much wait in the first few months and restrict themselves to one cup of food without a fill. Spoke to my doctors office today and she confirmed again that no fills till 6 weeks. I really hope I feel some restriction with a fill. The only time I felt restriction was the first 3 days after surgery. I am really afraid that I am stretching my pouch or I have ripped my stitches. Also I am really trying to eat slowly and take smaller bites but the food goes thru normally, especially water I can gulp it down no problem. Did they forget to band me after they knocked me off . LOL. How did you guys deal with the hunger. Please tell me that it does get better. Restless.

Thanks guys. You all are like family. It feels so nice to vent my frustration and know that I will be understood. Thanks again. Spoke to my doctors office today and they said that don't get caught up regarding your weight it is just about healing the first six weeks. Eat small portions thru out the day but chew a lot. Thanks again.

I eat 1000 cal a Day. i am between 3 to 4 weeks post op. I mostly stick to my portions. I don't exercise. Since 2 weeks I am stuck on the same weight. I work 10 hour days at a sitting job. How many calories should I burn to start the weight loss again. My first fill is in early April. Instead of loosing I increased one pound today. I am soo mad and upset at myself .

What are the symtoms of band slippage or ripped stitches
baba posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on third week post op and have lost 25 lbs but even though I am really trying from the bottom of my heart to eat well and mostly do, I eat bigger portions and eat bigger bites. I am extremely hungry constantly. I am allowed soft foods at this stage, soft enough to break with fork. I am really afraid of what it maybe doing or done to my band. I have no pain whatsoever, not even in my port area. Feels like no band at all. Please can someone tell me what it feels like if stitches are ripped or if the band slips. Has anyone gone thru it in the post op stages. Please advice. Thanks -

Thank you. All your responses helped me a lot. I should just stop over thinking things. Just should control my hunger till my first fill which is three weeks away and stick to the one cup portion. I feel fine and happy with my weight loss even though I am not loosing since one week. Thanks again. -
How did you know that the band had slipped.

How many carbs should be consumed in one day
baba posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today I am 2 weeks post op. preop start weight was 275lbs. Surgery day 260lbs. Today I am 248lbs. Total loss of 27 lbs. I am very confused though. Should I be eating 3 small meals and three small snacks or just three meals. My life style permits just 3 meals. Also I have not been given proper instructions by my nut. I know that upto 60 grams of protein per day. But what should be the max carb intake. What about sodium. What about sugars. Calories I know is also between 1000 to 1200. I am also not a water drinker but try to at least have a liter a day. Please advice. Thanks -

Thanks for all your replies. Especially ms Maui, I learnt a lot from your post. Last question is. Lets say I consume 1000 calories a day, does that mean that I have to use all 1000 calories in the day or I won't loose weight ? -

Thanks for the replies. Do you'll do 3 meals and snacks though or only meals?
