I had my gallbladder out 7 months to the day after my rny (last Thursday to be exact). I'm glad it started acting up because while my doc was in there he discovered some other things that didn't show up on my ct scan. I'm glad it went out

I had my RNY surgery 7 months ago at St Vincent Carmel and I'm down 117 pounds in that time.

Who has the best vitamin pill container
ShirleyJ84 replied to monopoly2015's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use this daily. It is big enough to hold my Calcium chews and all my Vitamins. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000E17M38/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1424217793&sr=8-1π=AC_SY200_QL40&keywords=7+day+pill+pack&dpPl=1&dpID=41sQ-LMWoHL&ref=plSrch -
August 2014 gastric bypass check in.
ShirleyJ84 replied to catdaddy's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I guess I need to post lol. Almost 5 months out I am down 103 pounds overall (I lost 11 pre surgery). I am very happy with my loss and only another 60 to go until I'm at my goal. It's been hard at times but totally worth it. I'm down to a size 16 from a 24 and I've gone down to a size 40 bra from a 44. The only thing that stinks is my hair is thinning severely. I know it's only temporary but it's still aggravating. Keep up the good work everyone! -

I had my rny on August 26th. So I can give you a little input on what I'm experiencing. I'm almost 5 weeks out and doing fantastic, went for my one month checkup and I'm down 30 pounds from day of surgery. I find that crazy, 30 lbs in 30 days. But both my nutritionist and doctor are loving my progress. Coming home from the hospital was scary since I had to have my boyfriend stop every 10 miles due to nausea. But I stopped my pain medications at about 3 days after surgery. I had only one or two issues since surgery, the first was my own stupid fault, ate too quickly and it was not pleasant. The second was the other day, my Multivitamin decided it did not want to stay down. Other than that everything's great. I read those stories also and it scared the crud out of me, some still do. But everyone's journey is different. I know it won't help the dreams but maybe it'll ease your mind a little bit. Good luck!

Premier protein rtd

The strawberry and creme is new and honestly to me it tastes like strawberry milk. I enjoy it so much. -
All the time. If it's not coming up one way it's going out the other. I'm only 3 weeks post but it's almost constant. I've been told it'll go away in time. I've also been told to try had gas x and it might help. Sorry I couldn't be more of assistance

It's funny I was just talking to a girlfriend of mine about baking this afternoon. I love to bake. My problem is if I bake then I'm going to want to taste. I'll wait until I'm a little further out to jump back on the bug. Thank you for the recipes. I'll have to try them in the future.

I'm two weeks out from surgery and today I have a funny feeling in my pouch. I ate my normal Breakfast (1 oz scrambled egg and 1oz diced ham). Well here it is about 2 hours later and it feels like I have a rock in my stomach. I don't know what it is but it's uncomfortable and making me nauseous. I have no idea what to do. I haven't had any problems until this. Souls I call my surgeons office?

Dang, my profile still says band. I need to change that. I had my RNY on the 26th of August.

This was the first time this has happened. I was scared. One of the wonderful women from my support group talked new through it. Told me to relax, walk and sip Water. It helped so much. It also helped when she told me that what you tolerated yesterday isn't what you may tolerate today. Makes me rethink everything in my approved list that I've been eating. Nervous about eating now lol

Weight gain after surgery
ShirleyJ84 replied to salem244's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I personally gained almost 15 pounds in fluids. My surgeon said if you don't go home weighing 10 to 15 more pounds than what you came in with he's not doing his job. Sounded crazy to me but sure enough I started at 338 and was up to 354 the day I went home. -
Waiting... To go in for weight loss surgery operation
ShirleyJ84 replied to InspirationMySon's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I hated the waiting part. Being all hooked up to an IV and nowhere to go. It gets frustrating. I waited two hours for my anesthesiologist to come see me. I thought they forgot about me. I actually called the nurse and asked. But afterwards it will feel like minutes that you waited. It's worth it. See both of you on the losers bench! -
I have a crazy problem. At least it sounds crazy to me. Ever since I had my rny on Tuesday I've had an almost stabbing pain in the lower left side of my stomach. There are no incisions there and I'm not sure why it hurts so much. That is the only problem I am having. Has anyone had this type of problem before? Thanks for the help

Everyone on here is amazing. Ask plenty of questions, no one is too trivial.

I'm doing better. Honestly I think I've been trying to do too much too quickly. u Keep having to remind myself I just had major surgery. It's been tough though. I've slept through the night once since surgery, I'm exhausted. Also I think I took myself off of my pain pills too early. It's wait and see now.
-
I'm not the only one! I thought I was going crazy. I'm starting to think it was from the shots the gave me in the hospital but I don't know. In the meantime I'm walking like an old man and I'm afraid of stretching.
-
My doctor was willing to let me go home the next afternoon following surgery but I did not have anyone who would be able to pick me up. So I stayed until he next morning. So I was in two days. It was great and everyone was amazing at the hospital but I'm happy to be home instead. PS I also agree about a recliner to sleep in it is easier to get in and out of. Even with having a binder on it still hurts.

Got A Date: August 26!
ShirleyJ84 replied to Danny'sGirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually had to sleep on the couch last night so I wouldn't roll over in my incisions. I keep getting my pain pill stuck in the back of my throat and have to work getting it out. The best thing I heard was the other day when my doctor said that if you don't go home 10-15 pounds heavier than when you went in we aren't doing our job properly. Total in all I gained about 10, maybe a little more. But it feels good to finally be on the losers bench. -
I just figured it out. I feel sheepish now. Thank you for your reply. Apparently I wasn't logged in. Have a great day. P.S. The new app actually is more user friendly. I like it
