pre-op for any surgery quiting is better for when you have anetsthia starting 6 weeks before your date and post op it helps you heal to stay quit for as long as you can and there is some risk to infection from smoking post up. In any surgery situation if your not quit 6 weeks in advance thay may not ask you to yet any anesthioligist might also tell you any amount of time is better than not according to my primary care doctor, it was recomended by my surgeon to quit and used to be not only manditory but they would have you quiting months ahead, things changed with that apearantly.

You have zoned further into my world friend; "I'm a big fan of getting out and training, unless you live in a climate (weather or crime) where that can't happen." It's not only cold in my city and I began joging in the last city I was in where things are worse, lol, that's quite realistic, who wants to jog through no man's land in the early AM while the smog rises, the vampires are still out there. Oh boy, I shouldn't had said, but I'll give you that much of it and so I did. I used to do it as I had places to go and skip the transit in exchange. It's much nicer up here in my high rise rather than being combat ready to get in a nice run.

Hi again, hope I didn't overwhelm you with my needs and why I want a treadmill earlier. Any way, first spec I looked at was how much weight can the machine hold, judging that may help if you'd like to see that it is sturdy. Other than that I looked for if the console was not to sufficticated and hard to program, and that it had a kill switch, actually hate the big old ones that ran more than i wanted to at the gym, kill switch is a good option, third was size, I didn't want one to big and feared a real small one was going to be junk. I went through a ton of reading on sales and all, when it came time to purchse, I redirected my thought and felt I may not get stuck if the treadmill manufacturor was reputable and established. Simply took a shot to look at Nordictrack and saw those things and a better price, plus a few things, a tab that goes up 1 mile per hour at a time and down as you run you can reprogram, console has whats in yurs and more if you pay for a service to connect, unsure if yours is set up with out any connection like that, most are. I noticed quickly the cheapest one they sell was on a sale price kind of perminent, it holds 350 pounds. It also folds and ramp tilts up to add to your run too, but not like a really expensice one but enough for me. Thats it, NordicTrack T 5.7 Treadmill http://www.nordictrack.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_-1_10301_12401_59002_183119

.. to much of an opinion and burns are just as ingnorant......

My thought for treadmill is simply to advance as a runner ending by getting a fast 1 mile straight out run, this is about all I think would be best as a goal considering my limits as for now. Works for weight control and quick burn during a week. The treadmill i got is a cheaper one but my running is going to be limited to something closest as is from a couch potatoe to a mile, well, who knows the full program that is c25k, if it works, it works.

I used years worth of gym time in the 80's and 90's, 4 years started every 5 week at 6am, it helped imensley for weight control and a weight loss diet in 96', this may seem that it's limited or maybe an isolatory struggle or a cop out but it suites me well at this point in time. I can apreciate that your energy is there though. Thanks.

At this point month 1/2 out and similar diet as you my weight has been plateauing every so often or few days apart and between and when it does the weight fluxtuates a few pounds up, stalls, then I loose a a few more than the high number after couple days, another pound or more then the same. Has been on going for a while, I expect added exrcise soon will change this some but I expect these plateaus and fluxtuations to go on. I do lose more going downwards and its better maybe to judge on a weekly bases as others do it and I've read here on forums before.

Cookbook called eating well after weightiss surgey
.......... replied to Tawnie's topic in Food and Nutrition
Eating well is also a Magazine, There is also these mags; Eating Well, Cooking light, weight watchers,Clean Eating, these two are on line digital subsription, WLS, Obesity Help ( OH ) all have recipe articles and cookbook off shoots, just adding hadn't you seen that. I also have the cookbook -
Maybe I am more trusting of this Almam, my nut says no fruit also, I think its different when you've a thick layer of fat and any carbs or sugars in the blood goes to work against the burn, how ever some is OK when you burn it off for energy when your active or weigh less, this is a time for real restrictions for me and the diets they suggest would be ludicris to some one 1/3rd my starting weight. If you become comfortable with this idea, well enjoy, its really not that I want to over do this either, just I want bread on my burgers and sandwhichs, to much more of it is not so good as I see it yet some is a dream compared to my last couple months diet, lol. Lots of luck, I suggest after you talk to the nut you may start a thread or when ever on the topic of Carbs, healthy carbs, low carb diet. We will both learn I'd think, some carbs again are good during the day but for me not when I need burn off the wall of fat I am still fighting against. Adding; I think when they use the term "net" they mean just total after adding completely all content as one.

Sorry almam, I suggest that your article may point out that some of these products aren't made to live up to a claim, this baker has put into his product a guarentee that it works as it should. It is high carb contents that spike blood glucose, The lower the carbs and the less that they will transform into blood sugars.

a low carb product does the oposite when compared to regular carb content, wtf ya talking about.

Decisions! Decisions!
.......... replied to READY4CHANGE2013's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
By pass is more complicated with more complication after the fact, sleeve to them may take extra dedication toward any guarentee in losing that large number compared though. I'd not go for a Bypass personally, my BMI was high 40's a year ago, I dieted away some of that and the figure dipped even more significantly since surgery. I recently fell under a class 3 which starts at 40, by a tiny percent for now. This choice (VSG) is still newest to them and for us and I'm lucky to have had it. Try and bring down your BMI, diet while keeping track of it and show them the result each time with any loss, if you'd lower it enough points that may help change their mind some if you must delay the process to show that to them you can put that on the table if they don't. Remember it is your decision ultimatley.
