I got kind of offended too... I take the time to actually weigh, measure, portion and track all my ingredients when I cook so I can log the calories at home... I think it's more lazy to just say "oh that is too much work I can't do that."

Is it ok to swallow the biotin pill after surgery?

I was worried about this because my best friend got lap band 2 years ago and hasn't lost any weight. I almost didn't tell her I was going to get it but decided that would bother her more when she found out later

I was banded April 2nd, have nothing in my band right now. Right after surgery they took me down to do a barium swallow and it showed the liquid was just slowly trickling through. Now I'm at home and every tiny sip I take its followed by a gurgling noise and a burp. Has anyone else experienced this? It's almost impossible to get liquids in! And it huuuurts.

I don't usually have a problem like this but after reading about it, it looks like the same thing that happens to me after getting IVs. After all my surgeries I have develiped big painful fluid filled bumps.I figured it was part of my natural healing process. Usually goes away a couple of weeks and doesn't come back. I got my surgery date... it's April 2nd! Part of me can't believe it's really going to happen. Having a date makes it SO much more real.

I am waiting for the flex too and I'm going to buy the aura at the same time. Yay!

I submitted my stuff to Tricare on Monday and today I find out I have been approved!! *does a happy dance* So now I have to go in for some more pre-surgery appointments and tests. The only thing is that my surgeon puts in an IVC filter as standard procedure, and I don't want it. The nurse acted really funny when I suggested that I'd be willing to do an alternative blood clot treatment, and said the surgeon may not do my surgery at all. Crazy! And disappointing. Anyone switch surgeons after going through all the testing and approval? I won't have to redo all that, will I?

My doctor doesn't require a pre op diet... but I'm doing one anyway. I want to shrink my liver and lower my BMI before going through the surgery on 4/2.

I start my pre op diet today and I'm certainly scared. I tell myself it's okay but I have trouble sleeping, am restless, wake up to a bed that I've torn all the sheets off of in the night.... It's a huge step and I think it's normal to have some anxiety.

So I met with the surgeon and my BMI is no longer in a place where he requires this. He still wanted to do it but I took in all of my research from scholarly journals and he actually read the studies and we cancelled the filter. Now let's hope I made the right decision... this was a tough one for me.
