Zoe, I just choked on my water! LOL

Well, Blossom, hopefully you're already home by now. Hope you're able to move as comfortably as possible. Try to keep walking around the house and drinking as much water as you can. It really does get better each day! Take care!

If You Loose You Hair, Will It Grow Back.
New Hope replied to adoorme9's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That seems to be a many-sided issue. I have not lost my hair since my banding. But I did several years ago, due to hormone changes. It eventually slowed down and is fine now. Then there's the question that the anesthesia could be what triggers hair loss. Regardless, I haven't heard of anyone going completely bald! It does level off. Please do be sure that you are getting enough protein. This is very important for your muscles. Best of luck to you! -
Warning, Pat, this forum is very, very addicting! LOL

Do you think it might be that we have a little bit more self-confidence and we are looking people in the eye more than before?

I should be in bed, but I just had to share this with all my wonderful Bandster family! I have a NSV!! I rode in a 20 mile bike benefit tonight! I didn't lead the pack, but I didn't bring up the rear either! I was smack dab in the middle, blending in, feeling almost normal. I wasn't the only short fat person on a bike. But I was able to hang in there and finish, without having to stop. There were plenty of "skinny minnies" stopping and resting along the shoulder. Gosh, I don't tell this to brag! I just want to encourage each and every one of you to get out there and try things that you probably never would have dared. If you'd told me 4 months ago that I'd do this, I would have laughed so hard that my asthma would have kicked in bigtime. Now, granted, I took my celebrex and rubbed in the Ben Gay first. I may have to roll out of bed tomorrow a.m., but right now I'm on an adrenaline high. And I like it! I wish this kind of happiness to every one! Reach for the stars and LIVE LIFE!

Melanie, best of luck to you on your search for better health! Please don't give up! Research everything you can get your hands on - about the band, drs., and their aftercare. I don't know how far you are from Mexico. But that is one thing that some people aren't taking into consideration, their aftercare, cost of fills, travel, time off work, hotel, food, taxi. There are several Mexican bandsters here who love their dr. and care. I was denied, appealed, 8 months later got my band locally. Just please remember that this weight didn't appear over night and try to be patient as you figure out what to do.

And have you actually had this particular NSV yet, Leatha? I am so jealous!

Pat, Non scale Victory, like wearing smaller clothes, able to cross your legs, wear your wedding ring, etc. Zoe, you've done fantastic! All these people telling you how good you look! I bet you feel good, too!!
-
Scott, so glad to hear that you're doing so much better! (Pssst...In case you didn't know it, you have a very loving wife and family.) Hope all continues to go smoothly from now on for you. Now, you and your wife get some rest this weekend, o.k.? And keep drinking that water!

Dreaming of banding in Alaska...
New Hope replied to Vickums's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Vicky, Best of luck to you! Please research, research, and research some more. Get all the info. you can find on the band, the surgeon, and his aftercare first. You need to know what to expect w/ the sarci. before you are banded. After getting my band and losing 50 pounds, my health problems and their required prescriptions have been cut in half. I'm able to do things I hadn't felt like, or had the energy to do, in years. P. S. I just celebrated 32 years married to my high school sweetie. -
Darcy, that's beautiful! What pattern is it? What type of stitch joins the pieces together? So you're not only beautiful, but talented, too! So who got dibs on it --dear hubby or dear daughter?
-
Hi, Jennifer, so glad to "meet" you! You feel free to read and post anything you like. We're all friendly, average, overweight people that have been given a chance to be healthier. There are also people here that are researching the band. Look forward to "hearing" from you more often! Congratulations on the 26# loss!
-
Yes, Lisa G., that's a BIG NSV!!! I have to take the Christmas party outfit back before I even wore it. It's too big. Boo-Hoo (Not!)
-
O.K., Now you've got me crying! Thank you for such kindness and support! There's absolutely no way to tell you how much that means! Love you "guys"!
-
Congratulations, Nora! So glad to hear your good news!
-
NY, sounds like you got the mindset of a winning Bandster!! So happy to hear that you're scheduled! Get ready for a wonderful new life - healthier, happier, and of course, skinnier! Best of luck to you!

Don't you love that "drop jaw" look people get when they recognize who you are?
-
My husband came out of an airport bathroom and couldn't find me in the crowd. He said my looks have changed so much and I dress so differently now. My green carryon bag gave me away. I had him retell me that about five times. LOL
-
Burping no more than usual. No problem w/farting at all. Maybe that's why I'm having abdominal pains the last couple of weeks. It's trapped and can't get out. LOL

Has anyone been banded in the US that has paid for it out of pocket?
New Hope replied to a topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Talk to Betty (Iluvharleys), she was banded in Dallas 2 weeks ago, self pay, and loves her doctor. Best of luck to you! -
Have you checked mexicanbandsters.com ?
-
That's wonderful! Sleep late, take a leisurely soak and shave your legs, tell DH to eat a big breakfast (but not around you!!). Your last night as an "unbanded woman!"
-
Me, too! Plus we can run around in our "jammies"!

Sending lots of (((hugs))) to you for tomorrow's surgery. You'll do great!
