And no Paula, dandruff doesn't count!

Would one of you that has actually had this problem start a new thread about this company? Please list their name, any contact names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, etc. - anything factual that you can share. People really need to be aware of this serious problem. Just too many times, and always the same $$, for this to be a coincidence or accident. They've certainly gotten enough complaints about this problem. I'm so sorry that this has hit ya'll at Christmas (or any time for that matter)!

Leave right NOW, Betty! Go home! Get your fuzzy, warm slippers on and have a cup of sugar-free hot cocoa. I already told your boss it was o.k.
-
Thanks, Betty! Hopefully, they'll be safely home soon - with their loving families!

First Fill, Not sure what to expect
New Hope replied to momhappe1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It would be advisable to stay on liquids the rest of today. This gives your tummy time to adjust to the change. Then when you do eat, take it easy - eat calmly, slowly, chew-chew-chew, and STOP at the first sign of fullness. You should do fine! -
Hey, don't let Nancy fool you....I've seen her do karoke. That girl has some moves!

It's cold for us Southerners, 40, wet, and cooling off as we speak. I get cold easier now too. I guess it's losing that layer of insulation. But I can finally wear those pretty sweaters without feeling like I'm going to "burst into flames." LOL I love snow, to visit and play in it, but I'm glad I don't have to deal with the icy roads (much) and sludgy aftermath.

Wow, Michelle, you can tell me a lot more of what to do than I can! If you've had a really bad pb episode, shouldn't you stay on liquids for 24 hours and let your body rest and recoup? Watch taking those antibiotics on an empty stomach. Maybe try to drink or eat just a little something first - to protect your tummy. I currently have an unfill (due to reflux). I've had the croupy, coughing crud for weeks. I've thought many times that I'm so glad I'm unfilled because I worried if all that coughing was bad for the band. Hope you get to feeling better very, very soon. P. S. I'd stay away from the moonpies, goo-goos, and buckeyes for a while. They are not your friend!

Kim, love your new name! I changed mine too (from 4x4x4 to New Hope). It's amazing how a little "Hope" and help can make us feel better about ourselves, isn't it? Yeah! Girl, you've lost 27 pounds in less than 6 weeks! You're doing something right! Have you tried using www.fitday.com ? It's free and can really show you what you're eating, how much, calories, exercise, etc. You may feel that you're eating a lot, but I bet you're eating a whole lot less than you did - preband. Are you getting your waterload in (but not with meals, or for 1 hour afterwards)?
-
Tanya, I'm crossing fingers, eyes, and toes for you! Don't give up. If you get denied, then appeal. I did.
-
Leatha, can I ride with you? We'll give her a "double whammy". LOL
-
I just pm'd you on the S Cal thread. You will get more responses if you only post one thread per subject. You may want to delete one of these. Best of luck to you!

PM Hagertheresa. She lives in Oregon and might be able to give you some info. Good luck!

Sorry, Paula, I've been out of pocket. Be sure that you don't eat anything for 2 - 3 hours before you lie down. Havng food in your pouch will cause it to "reflux" (back up) in your esophagus. This is NOT good for a bandster and band. Elevate the head of your bed at least 4 inches. This shouldn't affect your apnea. Do not sleep on a stack of pillows. They just bend your stomach and make the problem worse. Seriously, get a slight unfill! Please! Avoid spicy foods. Will your dr. call you in a RX for Nexium or Prevacid? It takes a few days of taking these meds (every day) for them to kick in. Hope you get to feeling better soon!!!
-
Did you receive a lapband for weight loss? When did you have surgery? What stage are you in? Did your dr. give you any post-op instructions? Each dr. has his/her own rules that must be carefully followed. Please try to contact your dr. ASAP. You can also go to www.inamed.com and download their patient information booklet, which your dr. should have given you.

How much of a fill for my 11cc band?
New Hope replied to Iluvmyboys's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Kattie, do you know what size of band you have? The newer, larger bands require more fill. Are your fills done blind or under flouro (with a barium swallow)? Has your band been checked for possible leaks? Are you feeling restriction? Is your fill dr. convenient for you to get to? Does he/she take time to listen to you and answer your concerns? -
Jack, please know that I'll be thinking about you and sending you comforting thoughts and prayers as you officially become what you've been working so hard for...for a very long time.....a healthier, new-improved YOU! This little band will help free you from those health problems, pills, needles, machines, and other paraphanelia that have held you down for so long. You'll be fine!
-
Kelly, You had a dog to eat? Do they "taste just like chicken"?
-
Prune juice. And be careful, Pat, when it hits, you're going to have the other problem - without warning.
-
Donali, please come and talk to us! Hope you're happy and still very much in love!
-
Seriously, can't your bosses put some rules in effect about eating at the office...like what times and where, and then make everyone stick to them?
-
Greg, how did you get in my house and take that pic of the scale and me?
-
Up one pound. O.K., I learned my lesson. 2 blackberry cobblers in one week is NOT a good thing. Now if I've got to get "moving".
-
Darcey, Sending you (((hugs))) and prayers for a noneventful surgery and smooth recovery. We look forward to hearing about your adventures "on the other side". Best of luck!
-
Darcey, everything will be fine and you'll be back in your own comfortable bed before you know it. That is wonderful your sister is banded. You can be a great support system to each other. 2005, here you come!
