Will you be returning to Guam for your aftercare and have you budgeted for those trips? Is this convenient to where you live? Please research everything you can about the Lapband and the doctor/hospital that you choose. Best of luck to you!

I can't think of any regrets. Sure, I would have liked it sooner, but I really don't know that I mentally was where I needed to be to make this work. Also, a change in recent insurance made this a reality for me.

Glad everything worked out for you after all. Best of luck!

Help! I'm feeling so negative about my band!

I'm glad that you talked with your dr. and got some answers to some fair questions. You chose this dr. because of his experience, so hopefully everything will snap in place now. -
Betty, which Walmart is that and when is that mechanic on duty?
-
Whew! Glad that's over with!
-
Everyone is different. Have you had any kind of surgery before, to know how you react to surgery and/or anesthesia? This is laproscopic and that helps w/recovery time.
-
constipation (not for those that get queasy)

Gosh, Mary E., that has to be painful! Thank goodness you went to the dr. before you became impacted and had even more problems. Be sure your stool softener pills aren't too big. I swallowed a gel-cap that got stuck, nasty and painful. -
You need to check inamed's website for a list of their American drs. Then call the drs. direct and see if they accept Mexican banded patients. Each dr. has their own rates for fill charges. Some use fluro., others do not. They can tell you their method.

Oh, Melissa, your post brought tears to my eyes. I know those thoughts! Isn't it wonderful to get your life back? Congratulations! You're just going to get better and better!
-
Donali, what a wonderful post! So glad to hear that all is well with you, that you're happy, and in love. He sounds like a very lucky guy. What great adventures you two are having together! Take care of yourself and "drop in" here whenever you can. We love to hear from you!

Perhaps Dr. Spiegel could come on here and clarify this. I know his office came on LBT once before when there were patient complaints posted here about office incompetence. Patients do have the right to know what's going on and how this could affect their care.
-
Yes, please get the facts and post them here to clear this up. I spoke directly with Dr. Spivak's office today. They quite clearly stated that Dr. Spivak and Dr. Spiegel are NOT going into practice together. Both doctors will be working out of the same facility in Houston. They do not know what Dr. Spiegel's plans are as far as other locations.

I responded to you on your other thread about this. Good luck!
-
Michelle, good info. Like Michelle said, (and several others here) Northerner, be sure and have your aftercare lined up BEFORE you're banded.
-
This clinic/dr. was the subject of a very controversial thread here. If you need additional information, please "pm" me so we can avoid that happening again. Thanks!

Staci, the purpose of not drinking w/eating is so your food will stay in your pouch and make you feel "full" longer so you'll eat less and lose weight.
-
Darcy probably ran down to her little basement gym to do some ab crunches!
-
It was those darn dancing bananas and Darcy's active imagination!
-
Becky, I have that same belly! LOL Keep wearing those tight jeans! Maybe you can make a "baby doll" swim suit (with those crocheted coconuts halves)!
-
It appears to be like everything else band related....nothing's consistent. Pre-op preps, port placement, post-op eating stages, fills - when/how much/cost --seems each dr. sets their own rules. Confusing!
-
Hi, Congratulations on getting your Band! You probably will feel all kinds of aches and pains in various areas of your body as you recover from this surgery. Are you running any temperature? Is the pain consistent or comes and goes, movement aggravate it? We're not medical professionals. If you're concerned about this, the best thing to do is to contact your surgeon's office with your ?? How much weight are you wanting to lose? Best of luck to you and hope to get to know you better here.
-
Becky is talented enough to do that! LOL
-
Becky could crochet or knit Darcy a cute little top!
-
I can send you some banana leaves and you can just make a muu-muu. Howdy from Texas!
