Band Rejection - Answer to Port Problems
New Hope replied to DeLarla's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm not familiar w/it at all, just trying to think of a possible reason why you're rejecting. I know we have another "future" bandster on here (in Alaska) who also has that and has expressed concerns about rejection problems. -
Congratulations, keep walking and sip, sip, sipping.

Band Rejection - Answer to Port Problems

Lisa, glad you got this taken care of and that you and Lopez have mended fences. But do you think your immune problem could be the reason your body is rejecting any "foreign object"? -
Golf ball with water!!!!!!!!!!Any advise???

Kathy, good luck! Getting a slight unfill should help you be able to eat the healthy proteins and solids we're supposed to eat. This will help you be able to continue losing weight. -
So, Maureen, you just had to press your luck, huh? LOL
-
Healthy, do a "search" for Ticker Tape Thing....it's a detailed thread about making the ticker tape. Hope this helps. If I can figure it out (with a lot of help), anyone can!!
-
Well, I bet you'll do it!!!

I was originally denied, appealed, 8 months later got my band. But every case varies. Some are a lot sooner! Please use this waiting time to start walking regularly, drinking lots of Water (but not w/meals), and trying to make healthier food choices (lean, moist meats, vegetables). This will make your transition a lot easier. Best of luck to you!!!

Pati, your best bet will be to call that dr's office direct. They should be able to answer all your questions, and most importantly, do they accept Mexican banded patients. Best of luck to you!

Band Rejection - Answer to Port Problems

I thought the very same thing! Did you actually hear the phone call, Lisa? Did it really happen? Personally, that sort of thing isn't worth you wasting valuable energy on. Please focus on getting well. And what's with signing a release? Like you've had any recourse in the past! I know I send and receive pms to/from bandsters all the time, with no ulterior motive, just out of care and concern. I choose to take them in the spirit they were sent - friendship. A person could drive themself crazy trying to scrutinize everything. -
There is something in the air...PLEASE HELP!!

Kim, you must be doing something right...27 pounds in 2 months!! -
Wow, Staci, 22 pounds in a month? Do you feel like you need a fill at this point? Have you not been losing for the last 3 weeks? Yes, your period can affect your restriction.
-
The very best of luck to you! We look forward to getting to know you better here.

Well, that just makes you look cuter and sweeter! Now, please let that baby out of the dog house. He adores you!

Do you remember initially doing anything like tugging or over-reaching? Is your band surgeon local? Is the pain constant or caused by certain movements? On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your pain? Are you running a fever? Does the area seem hot to the touch and/or look red? Does eating and/or drinking seem to affect it? I would put a call into your dr's office, just to be on the safe side. A visit might be worth it for your peace of mind. Severe burning doesn't sound normal. Please let us know what you find out! Good luck!

Becky, can you get any prettier? I think you need to post a new pic of you and your puppy. I loved that pic!
-
Congratulations, girl! Have you lost 32 lbs. in 3 months? Wow!

Band Rejection - Answer to Port Problems
New Hope replied to DeLarla's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Lisa, glad you finally got some answers to a very long-drawn out problem. Do you and/or the drs. think your scerodomis (sp?) could be causing your body to reject the band? Are any of the other brand of lapbands (Midband, etc.) made of a different type material? I know I pm'd you because you had recently been absent from the board (see you are missed when you're not here!) and you had posted earlier about having this done. You've done an excellent job w/your weightloss. IF you do lose your band, I bet you'll be just as successful as Donali has been! Please take care of yourself and get well. -
There is something in the air...PLEASE HELP!!

So sorry that you lost your grandmother! You should not eat 2 to 3 hours before you lie down. Brisket is very grainy and needs to be thoroughly chewed before swallowing. Please look at Michelle's thread on esophagitis and the importance of staying on liquids after pbing. Hope you're feeling better soon. -
How old is Connor? He's precious!

Hi, Rusty, I'm in Houston, also. How much weight are you wanting to lose? Have you decided on a lapband surgeon yet? Please research as much as you can before you do anything. There is so much to learn and you have to be able to mentally commit to living a healthier lifestyle. But I can tell you, it's definitely worth it! Best of luck to you and we look forward to getting to know you better.

I am not getting excited anymore until its done!
New Hope replied to Tammy22's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Tammy, please get a clarification from your health insurance company in writing, exactly what they are authorizing for you. It sounds like they are approving 4 visits to the specialist, Dr. Smith. Have you already gone through all the pretests and had the dr. submit(to your health insurance) for your band surgery approval? Please don't get discouraged! These things take time and I know you are ready to move now. But you do want to know that everything is done properly so your insurance won't deny payment. In the meantime, start getting in the habit of regular exercise (walking, treadmill, biking, etc.) and drinking lots of Water (but not w/meals). This will just get you ready and help you adapt easier after banding. -
Congratulations! How much weight are you wanting to lose? Are you a guy or a gal? Guys seem to lose faster. We look forward to getting to know you better here.
