How do people get along without this?
New Hope replied to Jonathan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi, Susan, look forward to getting to know you better on LBT. -
Some people say drinking w/a straw helps limit the amount of air swallowed.
-
Have you tried doing a search? There's a lot of good info. in the old posts..about various things. Just take your time and relax. You'll do fine!

How do people get along without this?

(((Hugs))) Jonathan! It is great to have friends here that you can talk w/ and they really understand what you're going through. Let's hope LBT will be appreciated and used for the right reasons... so we'll have it for a long, long time. -
"I can lose my fat, but you'll still be ugly". "Ugly's to the bone."

Hey, girl, I read your post about the port after I posted here. LOL Your car sounds great. You sound like me. I get a car for keeps.

These drs. all say different things. Mine said no Slim-fast. I like the Adkins Low Carb ready-mixed cans. They taste good and 20 grams Protein. I just bought whatever Protein Powder that Sams had on sale. I got the unflavored, added it to fat-free milk, a sliced banana, some frozen fruit (strawberries, blueberries, peaches -whatever you like), add some ice...run through the blender and you have a wonderful smoothie. Too much fruit will make it thick and harder to drink. Whatever you choose, buy in a small quantity at first so if you don't like it, you don't get stuck w/a case.

Teresa, please hold off on settling with the health portion of your insurance. Hopefully, you're not going to have any long-term side effects from this wreck. You need to know that your medical expenses will be covered regardless. Perhaps you should have an MRI to check why you're having headaches and still having the neck pains. Those are very expensive if you have to pay that out of pocket. Please look out for yourself, because the insurance company is only worried about how cheap they can get out of this. I hope you get better very, very soon. (((Hugs)))

Hi KarenD, you've done great! You might want to go to the introduction section and post a new thread. You'll get more responses. Hope to get to "know" you better here.

Bandster to be...About me..
New Hope replied to Belle joufflue une's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow, girl, what do you do in your "spare" time? I'm impressed! You sound like you have a wonderful family and a great career in the making. Maybe you can go back and give that "Fellow" a free counselling session on being just a tad more understanding and knowledgable about WL. -
Glad you're feeling better, Megan. Hope you get to see the whole movie without any interruptions next time.
-
Lisa, do you remember doing anything that could have flipped it? Donali said she remembers overstretching to get something out of the car's backseat and felt a sharp pain. Good luck!

(((Hugs))) Joan! And when you've lost a few pounds, be sure and look that creep up! Just remember, we can lose our weight, but ugly's to the bone. -
Kevin, that's great news! Please keep drinking that water as much as you can. All those sips add up. You're an official Bandster!
-
Teresa, does the dr. think the car wreck caused your port to move? Can't the guy that hit you be held responsible for your medical expenses (including a revision if needed)?
-
Teresa, that's wonderful! So glad you got a good one! How are you doing since your car wreck?
-
Vera, I hope it's a minor repair job (and that the manufacturer pays for it). You've done such a great job with your weight loss. I know once you get this little "pothole" fixed, you'll be zipping right along. Best of luck!

Hi, Kimberley, a pb is a lot like baby spitup. It is undigested food that gets stuck in the esophagus and has to go somewhere. It's usually caused from eating too fast and/or taking too big a bite. We need to take small bites and chew it very, very well before swallowing. It can also be caused from too tight a fill and that is usually relieved with a small unfill.

You've always been cute, but you're drop-dead gorgeous now! And look at that beaming smile...that says it all!
