Bright, what great pics! Love the one of the sun rays across the snow! And the kids...how cute. We don't get much snow either so it's a real treat for us. The azaleas and crepe myrtle are blooming. Robins are bouncing around every where.

Corgi, that is wonderful! Just think by the time you reach your 5 years cancer-free point how much healthier (and thinner) you'll be!
-
That's o.k. because you'll find yourself wanting to wear different styles and colors now. And pretty soon you'll be giving away all your "too big for me" clothes. Yeah!!
-
Kim, that is wonderful! 34 pounds since November! Wow! Now get in there and check that closet out before you bypass a bunch of things that you have forgotten were in there.
-
Vera, please know that your friends here will be thinking about you, and praying that all goes well. May God guide the surgeon's hands and your recovery be easy. (((Hugs)))

Have you checked out the "Where's the Merry Bandsters of Oregon"? I'm not in Oregon, but I wanted to welcome you to LBT and congratulate you on getting your band. How are you feeling?
-
Are you still on liquids? It really will get better each day. You'll soon be on here posting how much better you feel than pre-banded. The best thing you can do is walk, walk, walk....gets those gas pains out. A heating pad is good for your shoulder or standing w/ your back to a pulsating shower. (Don't soak in a tub until the incisions are healed.) Also you might try some Mylicon Baby Gas Drops.

Anybody else addicted to this site???
New Hope replied to Mariposa Bella's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Kathy, sounds like it's been very helpful to you! Your 2 year old is learning how to sort clothes and get dressed. Now if he can just get that vacuuming down. Addicted...I'm taking the fifth amendment! -
You all are so crazy!! LOL I've thought about doing this, but the expense scared me off. Now hearing about the pain and I guess I'll stick to waxing for awhile. Thanks for sharing! You've got me laughing so hard!

How Much Liquid After Surgery???
New Hope replied to Jammin & Losin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Jamie, those little sips here and there add up. It's very important to get enough fluids in and avoid dehydration. -
I joined here about 2 weeks before banding when I was at my lowest point, so I chose 4x4x4 because that's how I saw myself. But after getting my band and starting to lose weight and feel better, I changed it to New Hope, because I finally felt better about life and myself. And it just keeps getting better!

What is the first consultation like?
New Hope replied to Tropicana's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Have you been checked for asthma or sleep apnea? One of the biggest things for this band to work is a life-long commitment from you...to make healthier, smaller size food choices (cut out the junk foods, carbs, starches), and exercise regularly. -
Hi, OkieJudy, you might want to start a new thread under introductions and share what you'd like w/us...like how much weight you'd like to use, any ?? about your dr., when you plan on getting your band, etc. More people will notice it and respond to you. Best of luck!

I absentmindedly rub mine sometime...it's my security button. I guess I'm expecting to get 3 wishes. LOL
-
Corgi, you'll be back on here in no time telling us about how your life has changed..for the better. Sitting in the band dr's office yesterday, several people were waiting for their initial consult. Their comments like, "This is my last hope." "I've tried everything else and nothing has worked." "I'm a failure"... sounded all too familiar. Then I met 2 slender ladies there that I thought were salespersons. One had lost 100#, been banded 3 years. The other had lost 150#, banded 2 years. It's nice to see both sides of the coin. Really makes you appreciate your band all over again!

Rachel, be careful about getting a first fill too soon. You need to be on hard proteins (lean, moist meats and veggies) for a while first...so you can really see how your tummy handles them. Liquids and mushies aren't a true test. And you band needs time to anchor well. Everyone's different, I, personally, waited 2 months. So glad that you're feeling so well so soon. Must be your Dad's good cooking! LOL

That's wonderful, Wade! How much weight would you like to lose? Please let us know when you get a surgical date.
-
I split a meal w/someone or order an appetizer.
-
Ryan, I'm so sorry! I hope you get some good answers for Patty. Please take care of yourself and do try to get some rest. (((Hugs)))
-
Dearest Nancy, I know you have a lot of memories to cherish w/this sweet little guy. You're so lucky to have had such a special friend. (((Hugs)))

Way to go, girl! I know you have great taste in clothes, seeing what you brought to Galveston. I haven't worn any heels in SO long.

How to get my Brain to go with the weight loss
New Hope replied to tmarie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You're losing weight, girl! You've said you were down 2 pant sizes! How about joining the weekly scale challenge here? You have the opposite problem from most of us. We can't stay off the scale, so that challenge has been a great way to break a bad habit. How about coming here and "talking" w/us more often? No matter what's bothering you, you will find someone here w/the same problem. You'll also get lots of encouragement and ideas. -
I agree, it's NASTY!!! You'll be eating so little, you want something that is worth your while (tastes good).
-
Rachel, you're getting your sense of humor back! That's a sure sign of healing! Now would you send your Dad to my house for my next surgery? Heck, he can just come and visit...anyone that cooks like that! That's so sweet and I know it means so much to you.

That's great, Penni! Keep up the good job.
