And those shirts really are available! Bright posted a website on them, also "pbing" bags. Thanks for sharing! That's too funny!

I'm sorry that you're feeling bad. Hope things get better soon.

Hair Loss!!! - Is Protein the only solution???
New Hope replied to NancySmiles's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I didn't. I take multi-vitamins, flaxseed oil, and vitamin E every day. Perhaps that has helped. -
I'm still learning too. You're certainly not a pain. Look forward to "talking" w/you more here on LBT.

new here with questions...
New Hope replied to piercedqt78's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi, Mandy, you're wise to prepare yourself before you go in. You can contact your benefits coordinator at your husband's job to see if WLS is covered under your particular insurance plan. Be sure and specify the Adjustable Lapband, not Gastric Bypass Surgery. If you'd like to go to my surgeon's website, www.lap-surgery.net , he has a 5 page "pre-op questionnaire" that lists a lot of things you may not think of...like different weight loss plans that you've followed, different health problems, family health history, surgery history, social history, etc. There is lots of information here to help you learn about the lapband. Just do a "search". Best of luck to you. -
Lisa, I'll do it right now. It sometimes takes a few days for him to get back in touch.
-
That's o.k. I just wanted to be sure Bandsters saw your post.
-
I usually contact the board owner so all of your previous posts are combined w/your current posts. It gets a little confusing here when someone is posting under more than one name. Also, this is the only way a name can be deleted. Ex. If a bandster does not want that name listed on LBT any longer.
-
Nykee, would you mind going to the introductions and posting a new thread? You will get a lot more responses to your questions. Also, please do a "search" and read several old posts about the serious effects of being too tight. Just a few things are gastric reflux, band slippage, band erosion. There is a lot to learn about this band...before you get it and afterwards. I learn new things every day. Best of luck to you!
-
If you'll pm me and let me know what you'd like it changed to, I'll notify the board owner to make that change.

Hi, Lisa, go to the User CP, then to " Edit Signature". You can type in whatever information you would like posted under your name. You can also go to "Edit Profile" and enter any info. you'd like to share about yourself...ex. birthday, hobbies, etc. If you're wanting a "ticker tape" (banner at bottom of a bandster's post, you can click on one and it will take you to the website, create one, then "cut and paste" it under your signature. Hope this helps.

Great ideas, Nana! For a minute there I thought you were reading "Green Eggs and Ham". LOL
-
Nykee, if you go to the introductions and post, you'll probably get more responses. Congratulations on getting your band. Please be sure that you are following your band surgeon's post-op rules. Do not try to eat solids too soon! It's very important to let that band anchor itself and not force the stomach to digest foods too early. Best of luck to you!

Now this picture should be your before shot!!

Hi, Gwen, Congratulations on getting your band and the 25 pound loss! Wonderful! I personally take Gummi-Vites. They taste like gummy bears. I didn't like the taste of the Flintstone Chewables. I also take Flaxseed Oil, Vitamin E, (both are Gelatin capsules), and Viactiv Calcium Chews. There is a whole thread here about liquid Vitamins. A "search" should pull it up.

Congratulations to all of our new crop of "Bandster Babies"! We look forward to hearing about each one's successes. (And there will be many!!)
-
Congratulations on getting your band and on the 20 pounds that are forever gone! You'll be back skiing and scuba diving before you know it....and enjoying it so much more! They really bang us around when we get our band. The bruising, swelling, aches, and pains get better day by day.

Bumping for Tina.

Very Sensitive subject for me.....

Tina, ((Hugs)) girl! I've bumped a thread (80% Divorce Rate) for you to read. Please don't be scared off by the title. But I think you'll be able to relate to a lot of the posts there. Please love and respect yourself! God doesn't make any junk. -
Little, bitty baby steps. First, I walked 1/3 around the block and a 90 year old on a walker could have blown past me. But I kept walking...gradually a little more. I got up to 3 miles a day. But it's extremely hot and humid here in the summer. So I started bicycling..3 times around my block is a mile. Pretty soon I got bored, felt like a hamster in a wheel. So I ventured off the block. I've worked my way up to an average of 10 miles a day. On weekends, I can hit 20 miles. We've been on some wonderful rides, seen some amazing things. I've taken part in 3 bike benefits...two were 20 miles, one 25 miles. My favorite one was a country ride along a winding river and rolling hills. Last October, we went to Colorado and hiked 4 and 5 hours every day in the mountains. Would I have even thought about doing these things preband? No way! I'm very fortunate that my DH is my biking and hiking partner. He encourages me to never give up. It all starts with a single step.

We've done it !!! We've lost more than 4000 lbs !
New Hope replied to Audrey's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No pressure from me! I loved seeing what we ALL could do working together for a common cause. I can't wait to see what good things we can accomplish on the new goal for March! Congratulations to ALL of us bunch of LOSERS!!!! -
Boy, Penni, do I understand!! I've come to the conclusion that those individuals are the ones that have to face themselves each night when they go to bed. I strive to encourage others and see no sense in trying to undermine or destroy someone else. What purpose does it have? We're all responsible for our own actions.

Many oh man have I had an emotional rollercoaster ride today!!
New Hope replied to BigT's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
T, you will get your band. But you do want to make sure everything is in good order first. This is for your protection. -
No, Lisa, I have never deleted any of your threads. Since everyone was at a different weight then, it would be very confusing to do our current weights. A new monthly thread makes good sense. But could we possibly start another thread for comments and just keep this a true weight loss thread?
