Sometimes just the placement of the band alleviates the problems caused by the hiatal hernia...especially if it's not that bad. Had you been noticing any problems with reflux? There is a sticky here about things to do to live easier w/that problem. I'll bump it for you.

I am ashamed of my actions these last few days. I allowed myself to be hurt and angry. I've said harsh things that should have never been said. I have let these problems take me away from my family and friends. I know that the past can't be changed. But I can make a difference in today. I clearly say what I mean, and there is nothing to "read between the lines". Each and every one that has been affected by this, please accept my sincere apologies. This apology is directed to specific individuals and to the board as a whole. Can we please get back to sharing our triumphs and trials as individuals that are regaining control of our lives? Isn't it funny that we think we're going to starve to death? A bad gall bladder kept me honest before banding. But I remember thinking I was going to miss out on so many foods. Now I enjoy foods so much more because I (usually) make healthy, satisfying choices. There really is "life after banding!"

Hi, Noclutter, if you'd like to go to the introductions section and start a new thread, you'll probably get more responses. Please research as much as you can now. And there are several good threads here about going to Mexico for surgery, what to do and not do posted by other bandsters. Just do a "search".

Laura, I missed your post yesterday! Welcome and congratulations on your upcoming banding. How much weight would you like to lose? You might want to start weaning yourself off of those cokes before your surgery. Just one less thing to worry about later. Please keep us posted on your surgery date.

Same with me...not before I was banded and certainly not what size clothes I wore! LOL But he knows now. Something about that little band, losing weight, and buying smaller clothes really helps you tell those things.

What a wonderful, loving gift from your parents!! As far as how long, since you're a cash pay - that will really speed things up for you. He will probably have a few pre-op tests for you to do. Then it will depend on his surgery schedule. How much weight would you like to lose? Our sweet Paula on here lives in Lake Charles. Please let us know how your initial visit goes. I know that you're so excited!

Vera, if you'd known you were getting delayed in Dallas...you could have had several Texas Bandsters come and hug your neck. That is sorry getting delayed right after surgery though. Take care of yourself!
