Donali, Do you have someone that will be going with you for the band removal? Will someone be at home with you after surgery?
-
Thank goodness! Glad you got some answers from the dr. I don't have time to read my other posts right now. But I wanted to see how you were doing.

Have you tried Celestial Seasonings "Sleepy Time" Tea? My husband swears by it. It's herbal tea. A hot cup of that w/ a little honey and lemon knocks him right out. I get it at Walmart. It's a green box w/ a picture of a bear wearing a night cap on the front. Plus just drinking something hot at bedtime is comforting and relaxing.

Wow, mine took eight months!
-
Wow, you've got a full plate! (Sorry, no pun intended.) But sounds like you do have a busy schedule. What about skipping the news once in a while? That's usually about bad news anyway. I know the best thing is don't take a RX. But Ambien is a prescription sleep aid for insomnia. It's for occasional, short-term use. It doesn't make you feel hung over the next morning. But you need to be able to get 8 hours straight sleep when you take it. And it works fast! Be ready for bed before you swallow it. I've used it for a while.

Teresa, sounds like you live in a wonderful place (for a wonderful person.) You deserve to be happy! (And now you're working on being healthy.)
-
Alex, please go to the dr. tomorrow A.M. It will be $20 well-spent for your peace of mind. You don't want to have to sit in the E.R. for 3 or 4 hours to find out the same thing that your dr. can tell you. Where do we send $$ for the "Rescue Alex" fund?
-
Seanmamma, It sounds to me like it's going to be harder to get an appt. because they're going to be booked up with people coming in to fill out the "prefill" questionaire. Also looks like another way to make money...collect an extra co-pay, then bill insurance company for an extra office visit. Boy, it's always something!
-
Darcy, I felt the same way you do. But remember the doctor and his team do this for a living. We aren't the first naked "plump" lady they've seen and we certainly won't be the last. Have you made your stock-up grocery run yet? (The extra toilet paper, pet food, liquids for you, etc., etc.) You'll be surprised how fast the next few days will fly by. Oh, and washing some of your clothes for the LAST time (because you'll never wear them again!!) ! I loved that part!

Congratulations! I'm praying that all will be well with Mom and Daughter. I know you can't wait to spoil that precious little one! And is someone going to be a big brother or sister at that house?
-
I had a full fledge pb last night, eating too fast and not chewing well. That's a pretty scary experience. I want to do what I supposed to do to prevent that from happening again. I'm just going to have to take some slow breathes, slow down, and enjoy my meal in a leisurely manner.

And I agree with you. Skinny people don't want us sizing them up all the time. They just want to be your friend. Sort of the same thing that you want from them. Friends that you can trust to see all your warts and bad moods, and still be there for you. Those types of friends aren't cut out of any particular mold. They come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and if you're lucky enough to have one or two ---- you know it and they're counted as one of your most precious possessions. A true friend doesn't judge you by your size, hair color, skin color, how you dress, etc. They're there through thick and thin. They're a rare breed.

Well, I caught a glimpse of myself in an Academy Sports Store Saturday. I was dismayed at how fat I still looked. But my hubby asked me when's the last time that I'd looked at myself in a mirror. It's been years. So, thanks hubby, Great answer!

how long does it take you too feel hungry again?
New Hope replied to Lioness81970's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I haven't been restricted yet. But I get hungry in about 3 hours. Sometimes, I'm ravenous! We have a lot to learn yet, don't we? -
Food is a necessary evil. We can't live without it. But it's so easy to let it take over our lives. With smoking, drinking, drugs, etc, you don't have to have those things to provide sustinance. Food gives us comfort, happy memories, times that we cherish spent with others. I still have to fight the urge to be sure the pantry is full. That is such a great sense of security to me, more so than having thousands and thousands of dollars in the bank I think we are using this band as a tool to handle those out of control urges. This is a training session. We will be expected to be more and more self-reliant. Donali is just getting a head start on the rest of us. We'll still need her brilliance to guide us through our own treacherous maze
-
Best of luck to you! I'm new, but so far so good.
-
Well, I think I need some restriction. I've been so hungry lately. I've been snacking inbetween meals (very, very bad.) My psyc (sp?) hunger is trying to take over.
-
And, Lisa, will this second job have anything to do with 2 or 4 hooks?
-
Sorry, Alex, I guess I was showing my ignorance about the editing of posts. I have a lot to learn! Lisa, I'm really feeling good. I go see the surgeon on 6/28 to get released. I've been walking 2 miles in the evening after dinner. I've lost 25 lbs. All my aches and pains are gone. I guess I can't milk this any further. But it was really nice to get someone else to push the vacuum cleaner for a while. Both biopsies (tumor and gallbladder) came back negative. Yes! How are your furbabies? Hey, hope the leaking stops soon. Take care of yourself.
-
And who knew Donali was a poet too?
-
Jennye, so glad that your Mother is doing better. I know that makes you feel great! Hold out until you find a guy good enough for you!
-
Well, Lisa, if he'd read your posts about pole dancing and stripping, seen the purple bra and hooker glover, he might just think that you could sling your boobs around! But we'll keep that our little secret! I got the impression that Smartbandsters doesn't want any new kids on the block asking the same old ?? Plus, it looks like they edit most of the posts. I love this website!
-
Alex, is it really ever fun to sweat? I'm doing my evening walks, but I can't wait to hit the shower. I'll be so glad when I have 50 lbs. less to carry around.
-
Ha! Ha! Ha! Think "Dan" could figure this one out?
-
Out of curiosity about "Dan" being such a jerk to Donali, I joined Smartbandsters. What a bunch of sharks! I saw all the comments about your bra, Lisa. "Dan" was really getting into that! Plus, the layout is hard to follow.
